Chilli cheese potato bites :

Boil potatoes ( make sure they dont become too soft )
cut them into small cubes. Keep aside.

In a bowl, mix some red chilli powder with two to three drops of lemon juice. Or , mix some finely chopped green chilli with lemon juice drops, or mix some herbs and black pepper powder with some lemon juice drops ... which ever combination you choose , just make sure it is like a thick paste and not too runny. Keep aside

Mix half a cup of besan , add half teaspoon salt, half tsp black pepper and bring it to a thick paste consistency.

Now take one potato cube, place a layer of chilli on one side, then cheese, then cover it with another potato cube ( like a sandwich ) ... and dip it in the besan mixture carefully so that the two cubes done get separated and immediately chuck them in hot oil , deep fry until brown . Drain and enjoy :@:

recipe for the chicken patties as requested by 'cool girl' in the iftar pics thread

I used the frozen ready to bake puff pastry shells (by pepperidge farm) bake those according to the directions on the box. For filling I used boiled shredded chicken in a basic white sauce. Here's how I made the sauce, on med heat melt 2 tbsp butter, add 4 tbsp flour and 2 cups of milk, keep stirring to avoid clumping then add salt to taste, 1/2 tsp white pepper, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp paprika (or red chilli powder). once the sauce is thick turn the heat off add the shredded boiled chicken and mix well. stuff the baked shells with this mix and its ready to eat.
