Re: Ramadan Resolutions

Just strive to live my life as a good muslim. Always remember Allah first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

Re: Ramadan Resolutions

I really have been bad about not reading the Quran on a frequent basis so inshallah I'll try to follow thru with reading the Quran more frequently post-Ramadan too.

Re: Ramadan Resolutions

Wow I havnt even thought much about it :frowning:

Pray more!

I guess that’s it coz if i can discipline myself to read namaz, then I can do everything else :hula:

Realistic Ramadan Resolutions

Assalamo alaykum,

We've all had plenty of Ramadan resolutions so far and there have been some that we could achieve, while couldn't do much about others.

I'm thinking we should try and do it slightly different this year where we share what we wish to achieve during Ramadan, but we should make realistic goals that are achievable and where we could share the progress of our goals with everyone. This could help us keep track of how good we're doing, as well as provide others with ideas that they could use to improve themselves in Ramadan, insha'Allah.

Please feel free to improve upon the initial idea and provide other suggestions to hopefully make it work, insha'Allah.

Re: Realistic Ramadan Resolutions

Just try to become a better Muslim and carry it into the next year...

Ramadan as always will bring lots of things for me to think about...

May this month be a blessed one for all Muslims and may they grow in Eeman and Taqwa...Ameen...

Re: Ramadan Resolutions (merged)

I managed to have PCG's thread moved to Religion forum and have incorporated her initial thread with mine (my idea is to keep track of it and share the progress with other) and I hope it works out for the best for all of us, insha'Allah.

Re: Ramadan Resolutions (merged)

I wanna take it step by step and actually achieve something year this, insha'Allah.

For starters, I'm gonna try my best to speed up the memorization of Surah Muzammil. I believe I'm almost half way through it. If I start memorizing it on a daily basis, I should be able to finish it soon. My goal is to finish memorizing it in the next two weeks, insha'Allah.

Either afterwards or during this time period, I also want to review the 30th juz and a bit of 29th (that I have memorized so far) to ensure that I correct all the mistakes and commit to memory the parts that I have forogtten, insha'Allah.

In addition to that, I want to control my temper and ensure that I don't lose it unnecessarily. I'm gonna use my desktop calendar to keep track of when and how often I lose temper, so that I'd be able to keep a record and it could sort of help motivate me to stay good, insha'Allah.

Re: Ramadan Resolutions (merged)

Be more thankful to Allah becasue he always bestow me with best of everything in life Alhamdulilah, And I have a firm belief that he has chosen the best of everything in future for me aswell. Although I am a sinful person, but Allah is always kind to those who truly believe that Allah is Rehmaan and Raheem ( most kind and merciful) I want to be thankful for that also.

Secondly, I want to pray for the officers and constables of Trafic police in this holy month that Allah give them ajar for their service, and save them from many illness related to pollution… they risk their life and health to serve in harshest conditions (pollution and weather ) specially around the time of Iftaar, they control the trafic so that people reach home at time… Yet no one appreciate them and everyone talks to them in rude manner. Please be kind to them and appreciate their efforts :flower2:

Thirdly, I pray that petrol prices comes down fast. this price hike is breaking backbone of poor people as it directly affects consumer items and everything in life. I hope and pray that CNG 4 stroke Rikshaws replace old conventional rickshaws which cause major pollution (noise and air) in big cities.

Oh … And I pray for world peace

Re: Ramadan Resolutions (merged)

I took a resolution on Aug 25 2000 (yes I even remember the date) to read and understand Quran with meaning. It changed my world.

The best way I found is to allocate a fixed time (say only 15 minutes to start off) daily, and make it compulsory upon yourself to read Quran with translation so you understand. It works great and one is in constant touch with God; asking for help and He solving one's problems.

Something that I think everybody should think about.

Re: Ramadan Resolutions (merged)

Everyones resolutions should be now to help as many Pakistanis affected by this Earth Quake as possible, and if they are not in a financial position to do so, urge otheres (members of their pakistani community abroad) to do so...

Re: Ramadan Resolutions (merged)

Of course, there was no intention to undermine that. My resolution was more of a long-term individual effort that should be a part of one's life on an on-going basis. At this very moment, helping our brothers and sisters as much as we can, physically, financially, materially and otherwise through prayers, is most important. May God make it easy on the victims.
