Hinna: Yes, you can freeze the spring rolls. I usually make around 50 and that lasts me a good month and a half.
Sajal: Bake them in a pre-heated oven 375degrees for 30 minutes. Turn them every 10 minutes so they cook evenly. Sometimes, it may take longer so you have to keep an eye on them. As, for the blender running for 5 minutes, you don't have to but i just like a well blended smooth milkshake:)
Diva4U: I also like the tuna kababs i make. They turn out well and i also freeze them.
Sidra54: Abhi Ramzaan shuroo tau nahi hua naa??? Tau phir abhi sauchnay mei koi harj nahi hai.....:p

Sajal: We have this korean market here and that is where i buy bamboo shoots from. I have never seen them at a regular grocery store. Try an asian store or go to china town if there is one closeby.
Sajal: the recipe calls for canned but i usually use fresh bamboo shoots. The can ones you can get in the international food aisle in a regular grocery store.
7-8 caramel bonbons (sweets)
4-7 tbsp cream
2-4 apple
some almounds peeled and chopped
ready made pie or pastry wrapper from supermarket
cook the caramel sweets in cream till a smooth mixture is made, then clean and peel the apple and cut in 4 pieces and add into the caramel mass. Let it slimmer for a while on slow heat, then put the caramel apple into a glass or caramic base .. spread with almounds and on the top, cover with the pie wrapper roll .. spread the top with egg and with a knife cut some small wholes into the pie wrapper so that the moisture can get out ...
bake 200 for 20 minutes ...
I make it in a similar way, except I don’t fry them in oil. I just put them on the tawa with a bit of oil on it and let them cook through … they turn out very good.
I’m also going to try your spring roll recipe … but what is that bamboo thing you have mentioned.
Mehnaz, i like you idea about just leaving them on the tawa with a lil bit of oil. That is what i am doing next time.
Here is what i found on the net regarding bamboo shoots.
Why Eat Bamboo shoots
You've probably eaten crisp strips of bamboo shoots in Chinese dishes. They are literally the shoots--the young, sprouting stems--of a bamboo plant, which is a type of grass, and not a tree. Sometimes the shoots are cut when they first appear, but they may also be "hilled"--piled with soil as they grow, which prevents the development of the green pigment chlorophyll so the shoots remain pale. In supermarkets, you can usually find only canned bamboo shoots, which have been peeled and cut into strips. However, Chinese grocery stores often carry the fresh, whole shoots, which are cone-shaped, and about 4" long.
The fresh shoots are a good source of thiamin, vitamin B6, and potassium. Canning the shoots, however, strips them of most of their vitamins and minerals.
Preparation
After rinsing, canned bamboo shoots can be added directly to stir-fries; they are precooked and need only to be heated through. Fresh bamboo shoots should be boiled until tender, then husked and cut up; they can be stir-fried or served as you would asparagus.
Queer: is there any reason you have eyes and yet so blind???? Go back and read that BJ is my neighbor and once i have tried them they become my recipes. I do make minor changes here and there. So, please stay out of my business.
