Really looking forward to Ramadhan this year, InshAllah I plan on keeping all my fasts :)
I thoroughly get the house cleaned as well, this time around I am thinking of changing the drapes around the house? will see if I get the time hopefully
Already planted dhaniya/mint.green chilies/cherry tomatoes since Ramadhan will fall over the summer, these will come in handy for sure
I will be preparing and freezing a lot of food like kebabs, chicken skewers, samosas, beef patties, and spring rolls. make boondi each week, will use it as needed
we will having lots of out of town guests and family coming over around Eid, so I am already mentally preparing myself of what needs to be done as a hostess :)
I was thinking of making an advent calendar for each child, open a window on each iftar, with a date in each daily box ... I have a cool recipe that inshAllah you'll like too ...

Everything sounds brilliant. I love the idea of growing your own herbs and veggies, can't wait to have my own little herb garden ready in the backyard.
bring dates and rooh afza. Make chicken mixture for patties.
I mentally get ready for ibadaat and making it count. All the other stuff seems secondary.
I think It's better to have the cleaning and sorting done before Ramadan starts so you can concentrate on ibadah. I don't feel like praying when the house is untidy.

I was thinking of doing something similar one day when I have kids iA...decorating one wall of the house with 30 stars..and each day the kids pick off one star and check what is written on the back. Sometimes activities like, bake cookies and share with neighbours, donate toys to children in need, make Eid cards, volunteer at soup kitchen, decorate house for Eid, visit old folks center, etc...and sometimes learning activities, like read a hadith/ayah about Ramadan, read a story of a sahaba,..etc

1) Buy a new table cloth, probably a nice bright colour.

You can make it the special Ramadan table cloth and only use in Ramadan. Can even have a few special dishes that are only used in Ramadan, like a dish for the dates etc
