Unfortunately what we have been told about ramadan is not entirely true. No where does the Quran say you have to fast for the entire month but rather اَيَّامٍ مَّعۡدُوۡدٰتٍؕ i.e few or limited number of days.
And so it begins!

As for my reply, maybe you need to reread what I've written, I have not disputed scientific benefits of fasting at all. So I dunno why you went off on that tangent. I was strictly talking about what instructions the Quran gives us versus to what we have been told and lead to believe

There is no tangents my friend! I was just curious as to the source of your information, the scientific mention was not to argue but just a general comment. I do not follow any organized religion and adopt and admire good things in all faiths. Fasting if done properly is something I would admire as it has great health benefits if one does it responsibly
I try to do a 15 hour fast everyday regardless of any month or times
