Ramadan mubarak to all you lovely people! May this month be full of blessings for you and your families!
I’m loving the Ramadan spirit already!
So, how are you preparing for Ramadan? Bought khajoors n stuff? The ones in my pind make me puke! So dry and tasteless and nothing compared to what I was used to back in arab land! But I bought them anyway… can’t have iftari without dates!
Ramadan Mubarak to all you. I am looking forward and enjoying the possible happiness of this bless month and really feeling excited. I just cannot wait.
As always we are starting the Holy month of Ramadan on different days here in the UK. It’s a mess. Following a mosque here in the UK could mean following the hardheaded Wahabis of Saudi Arabia, hardly a sound or sane choice for any muslim to make imo.
Ramadan (for most people) starts here in London on Saturday 21 July although some people (mainly Bengalis) are starting their fasts on Friday (tomorrow) … even though in** the UK the moon cannot be sighted by any means tonight!!!**
Actually going by the following link it SHOULD BE SUNDAY 22nd July
Saturday is the correct day … … Not Sunday … It is correct that the hilal will not be visible until Sunday, but moonsighting is done for the 29th night of the previous month only, if not seen then you complete 30 days and thereafter move to the the 1st of the next month, EVEN if the hilal is still not seen on the 30th night …So Saturday is right trust me …

And Ramadan Kareem to all
There maybe many things not right about Pakistan but atleast the whole country **(except Peshawar ofcourse ... pata nahin inn ko chand pehle kaise nazar aa jata hai!!**) **is united behind/follows the Roet-e-Hilal committee and starts on the same day.
**It is not like people in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Islamabad are starting on different days
People in the UK should follow suit. This joke about the timing of Ramadan/Eid needs to stop
I personally think one should follow the mosque they visit. The mosque closest to us and the one where we go fro taraweeh is holding first taraweeh prayer tonight, InshAllah. So first roza tomorrow.
Every year it becomes apparent that Saudi have declared fasting on the wrong day and they themselves admit they announced it wrong, yet people still continue to accept their testimony. And then there are those that didn’t start fasting on the latter day ( that being the correct day) by reason of it being the order of The Most High and His Beloved peace be upon him, rather because they don’t want to be celebrating Eid on a day other than what their younger sister will be celebrating Eid.
