The Wifaq Ul Ulama (United Kingdom) hereby announces that we have received reliable news of confirmed sighting of the Hilal of Ramadhan, (Muhaqaq Ru’yat e Basari) from the Moon Sighting committee of South Africa, where correct sh’ree principles are met before making the announcement. Due to weather conditions the moon was not sighted in the UK.
Hence we hereby declare that Ramadhan ul Mubarak has commenced today (Sunday 31st August) after Maghrib Salah. Monday 1st September will be the first fast.This is in accordance to the Fatwa we have received from Darul Uloom Deoband and other Mufti e Kiram.
May Allah SWT make this month of Ramadhan, a month of blessings, mercy and Maghfirah for the whole Ummah.
