for GTA: There have been no confirmed sightings of the new crescent in the parameters of the Hilal Committee, therefore Sha'ban will complete 30 days and Ramadan will start Thursday 12th August, 2010.
First day of Fasting is on Thursday 12 August, 2010

Most of hte masjids in GTA follow the hilal committe, so if the closest masjid to you follow the HC, then you go with what the HC says. if you're in a city OTHER than GTA, then you call up your local mosque and ask them waht they are following and fast according to that.

I follow Hilal Committee every year but since I live in Milton they are following ISNA and they are fasting tomorrow, I was confused for a bit, but since i have always follows HC then i am fasting thursday, am i wrong?

the right thing to do is follow the mosque closest to you, so if you’re in milton and they’re following ISNA then go with that.

I am fasting today as everyone who I know is doing it today
