He was the student of my khaloo in queens where my khaloo was the director of muslim center for 25 yrs and recently retired.

Funny he became my teacher for a course afterwards.

And the person he was talking about who used to give translation/tafseer during taraweeh, his inspiration, when he was 18 was Dr. Israr Ahmed.
