If u don't want to use toothpaste, brush with miswak regularly thru the day. I have heard that miswak contains natural anti-bacterial properties. Plus its sunnah!

Re: Ramadan breath

HADITH QUDSI..

On the authority of Abu Harayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (PBUH), who said: Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says:

Fasting is Mine and it I who give reward for it. [A man] gives up his sexual passion, his food and his drink for my sake. Fasting is like a shield, and he who fasts has two joys: a joy whin he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. The change in the breath of the mouth of him who fasts is better in Allah's estimation than the smell of musk.

It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim, Malik, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah).

Like a sister mentioned use miswak, avoid tooth*paste* because it is considered makruh. Also you can use tooth*brush* with water if one can't find miswak.

Re: Ramadan breath

This is what I use and it works wonders. Tried and tested.
Bad Breath, Halitosis, and Dry Mouth Cures - TheraBreath

In sehri take cardamom tea after eating sehri.

Haha nice thread.

Re: Ramadan breath

what about breath spray?

Even after a long long time?

I am going to try out what Mirch recommended. I suppose Listerine (brand) does the same thing or maybe it is apples and oranges, TheraBreath and Listerine.

I had this question also, and I am not using the spray because of the reason that you are spraying it directly inside your mouth (which is originally in a liquid form) and it goes through your neck passage, which nullifies the fast. If anyone can shine light on this, it would be helpful.

PAGS just rinse your mouth plenty of times after brushing.

Re: Ramadan breath

Use toothpaste and brush just before sehri ends!

Re: Ramadan breath

You CAN brush during your fast WITH toothpaste, just don't swallow it on purpose.
