I observed that people waste too much in Ramadan. The city is full of banners of deals from fast food chains and Restaurants offering buffets ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1500 and above per person. Iftar parties are another medium to show-off.
Where is the simplicity which could lead us to realise difference of ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’?
I observed that in our childhood, our Dastarkhwan at the time of iftari contain khajoor, sharabat and some fruits… We were more content with all this simplicity. Now people want to have all the stuff on their table for iftari and forgetting the idea behind fasting (i.e. realising others deprivation)
muqa bhai: it is the month of ramadan, people tend to little fazool kharch. at our mosque, we never waste food, but allow people to take food in boxes if it is more than our needs.

STA I'm talking about the commercialism that surrounded the spirituality

Don't you think consumption of food increase in Ramadan compared to other months.

no.. here in bury..
yes it does... mostly aftaar time we make so many things.. and then cant finish 'em all... and in other months we can eat 'em next day.. but in ramadhan we keep rozas.. so thats why all food goes in waste

That wastage is against the soul of the holy month. Moreover, the most concerned thing in Ramadan seems 'what to be made in sehri / iftaari' instead of thinking of ibadaat. I think women spent more time in kitchen during Ramadan compared to other months.
abhii kal hii maiN ne yeh show dekhaa thaa on this issue…“to be sensitive about ‘haves’ and have-nots”!..“Aisa Bhii Hotaa Hai” is a reality based show on Samaa TV…i LIKE this show! watch it, plz. it has a message worth a million dollar!
true KKF. This show-off couple with wastage of Rizq by well off people depresses those who can't afford such luxuries.
the mango scene really made me sad! :(
