:salam2:
Ramadaan Mubarak to every Muslim fellow who gets to read this message.
The Blessed Month of Ramadaan has arrived. Some places, it has already started; some places it will start from Tuesday.
This is the month for which It is related by Abu Hurairah:razi: that the Apostle of Allah:saw2: said :
"When the first night of the month of Ramadhan (comes), the devil’s and defiant Jinn are bound in chains and all the Gates of Hell are closed and non of them remains open and all the Gates of Heaven are thrown open and none of them remains closed and the heavenly herald announces,
“O seeker of goodness and virtue! come forward; and O lover of wickedness and evil-doing! Halt, and do not come forward”
and a large number of (sinning) bondsmen are released from Hell at the command of God (i.e., decision of forgiveness and deliverance is taken for them), and all this takes place on every night of Ramadhan." [Tirmizi and Ibn-i-Maja]
Prophet :saw2: has divided the month in to three parts known as Ashra’ which in Arabic means Ten (10) …
The first Ten days [Ramadaan 1-10] or First Ahsra is called Ahsra-e-Rehma - The Ashra of Mercy. We should seek the mercy of Allah :subhanahu: in this Ashra and be merciful to our fellows.
The second set of Ten days [11-20] or Second Ashra is called Ashra-e-Maghfira - The Ashra of Forgiveness. We should ask for the forgiveness of Allah and for the forgiveness from other people. A muslim must develop a forgiving nature as a result for rest of the year as well. Asking for forgiveness and be forgiving only during the month of Ramadaan does not fulfill the very purpose when our behaviour is otherwise in other eleven months…
The Third and Last Ashra - set of last 10 days [21-29/30] enjoys the superiority over the first two just as Ramadaan has superiority over other months of the year. This Ashra is for enfranchisement from Hell Fire. The most important thing in this Ashra is the Lailat ul Qadar that can be any of the odd nights [21, 23, 25, 27 or 29] and could be any of the last 10 according to another tradition… Also keep in mind that Lailat ul Qadar is the night when the original Quran was sent down to the seventh/last sky from Loh-e-Mahfooz/Kitaabum Maknoon/Ummul Kitaab.
Also keep in mind that Islamic date changes at sunset.
Here are few important suplications to remember for all three ashraas and Lailat ul Qad’r…
