hindus are celebrating it today, whts the history of it, whts the concept i know its like brother has to protect the sister, but how it started n how it is celebrated it today???

Don't know for sure but I think it was celebrated first between Santoshi mata and Bhagwan Ganesh. It falls on Poornima of Shravan maas:)
