Aryan is a term found in Zoroastrian and Hindu scriptures, it refers actually more to a speaker of those languages. I actually believe it means Iranian or Iran.
NO they did NOT come from Germany. That theory was used and made up by Hitler later on to preach his ideologies and his hatred. The Nazis claimed they(Aryans) had mutual similarities to the Germanic people.
Yes the term also refers to the people who had once invaded India(many many many many thousand years ago). Some Hindu nationalist movements even claim the Aryan invasion theory was made up in order to divide Indians.
So basically no one really knows what Aryan people are, the term has been misinterpreted and misused and the whole race theory was only made up to further split groups apart or to spread racism.
As far as I'm concerned the 3 upper hindu castes are sometimes referred to as Aryan castes.
I'm astonished how many people really pay respect to such things as caste? I didn't even know it mattered in Pakistan. I guess I was wrong.
BTW Fatmeh, your name "Rao" it's also a Brahmin name and pretty common in South India.
As for emperor Akbar...didn't the man also create his own faith where he was sort of worshipped? A Sufi boy had told me that was the reason he couldn't have a son so he walked through the desert to Salim Chishti who ordered him to leave all this and re-embrace Islam. Don't know whether that is rumour or truth.
As for the movie Jodhaa Akbar, there was actually some controversy as people say the name "Jodhaa" had referred to Jahangir's wife not to Akbar's.

If you read Rushdies newest novelette. The name of which escapes me, he makes up a myth of his own. That in fact Jodhaa was a figment of Akbars imagination.. jokes!
