Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

Because the shrine chief is Indian, and as such Indian lives are more important than others. The same holds true with Pakistanis, Americans or anyone else for that matter.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

We did not invite your PM, he is actually imposing himself on us. If your PM is of the opinion that Pak lives are just as important as the shrine chief feels Indian lives are. Your PM should not make the trip here.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

As far as im concerned, the shrines chief is a publicity whore, who's sole interest is in appearing patriotic. I dont fault him, he is a product of India. but when did Indians lose their manners? it certainly is sickening to see a Muslim in India, protesting in defense of an Army that has been documented as committing grave human rights abuses against his own people (Indians consider Occupied Kashmir as their own). Even you in some dark recess of your mind must have some concern for other Muslims, atleast those in you consider you countrymen. Why does this Shrine Chief not protest the mass graves found in Kashmir?

Still, last I checked, the tragedy meant the loss of both Pakistani AND Indian soldiers. In fact more Pakistani's then Indians, over something that the Indians more then likely started, and yet its Indians with the hurt feelings?!?!

Personally, I dont really understand why anyone would want to visit india in such a hostile environment. But our Politicians are self serving turds who will go anywhere regardless. And our people, they really dont have any resentment towards Indians generally. We have our extremists and terrorists, but they are a very small minority. in general, you wont see people boycotting Indians on their visit, or showing them any hostility despite it all. i doubt you will ever hear of a Pakistani saying they will refuse to meet anyone from India, or cleanse the route those Indians choose to tread upon...

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

Our PM and his entire party are a bunch of self interested, self promoting shameless turds who could care less about appearance.

My issue is with Pakistanis who think this "shrine chief" and his actions are in any way respectable.

Your shrine chief only seems to care about Indian lives that are lost at the hands of Pakistanis... Where is his protest over those Indian killed by Indians themselves?
Your security forces are given complete protection from prosecution if ever they are accused of abuse.

Indian actions in Kashmir are given blanket cover by apologists like you, but you applaud when people like this chief decide to be more patriotic then the King in the way they treat Pakistanis?

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

At least someone see's this hollow "patriotism" for what it is.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

Agreed there was no need to go there when the relations are far from normal. And we have just had a tragedy, the PM should have visited Karachi instead. This event again shows their priorities.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer…all’s well at home

I dont know about that… You are really assuming far to much about this particular Mullah. ( the reason why mullahs appear different on both sides is that our mullahs have political power, and some degree of street power, where as Indian mullahs do not. Inside however, they are cut from the same cloth.)

What should we conclude of someone who even after decades of documented human rights violations against Indians of his own faith, doesn’t utter a word against the Army he is now defending, suddenly having a conscience and deciding to boycott the PM of Pakistan! He really is no different then the Mullahs of Pakistan, who only speak when it serves their interest.

Pakistanis also lost soldiers, but you dont see Pakistanis behaving in such a way. Today we had 88 Hindu Yatris arrive to visit Katas Raj. Did anyone refuse them any sort of hospitality?

There is nothing wrong with being polite and wanting good relations, but lets call a spade a spade.

This is Pakistan

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

If hurt feeling are ever an excuse to avoid visiting your neighbor, then Indians should never visit Pakistan at all, EVER. somehow, Pakistanis seem far more magnanimous in this regard.

Excuse me if I dont sympathize with Indians on this issue. Ulta chor, kotwal ko dante. If anything, it should be the Indians who apologize for the loss of life, as their side apparently started the entire tragedy.

It’s in our culture to welcome our guests with open arms,” said Khurshid ahead of a lunch he will host for Ashraf at the Rambagh Palace, a luxury heritage hotel in the tourist city of Jaipur in northern India.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer…all’s well at home

Those are private citizens on a pilgrimage. We have no problem with private citizens of Pakistan, but this guy is Head of Government, and therefore not welcome here.

Thousands of Pakistani pilgrims visit Muslim, Christian and Hindu shrines in India each year, they are not shunned, so the same courtesy is expected of Pakistan. Facilitating a group of Hindu pilgrims is no big deal or favor.

With regards to sports, that is a totally different issue. Indians currently do not visit Pakistan for sport, so Pakistani’s should not visit India for sport either.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer…all’s well at home

Thanks for proving how pakistan and india are poles apart in mehman nawazi. And U proved it quiet easily with a click of mouse. Well done med and how r u?

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

Im refering specifically to the reaction to this incident, not to the treatment of Pakistanis in general.
but in regards to event surrounding the LOC firing, you do have a problem with private citizens as you also kicked out Pakistani hockey players following the incident on the LOC. Not to mention the fact that the PM is visiting on an unofficial private visit, hence he is technically also a private visitor on this occasion.

The PM of Pakistan is not responsible for the deaths of Indian soldiers along the LOC in an incident that was instigated by Indian soldiers themselves, and in a controversy drummed up by your media and political classes for ratings and potential votes in an election year. So spare me the melodrama. The entire episode was sad, but not completely out of the ordinary, and the mutual loss of life should have instilled in everyone a sense of the reality of the problem. Instead, its a media spectacle.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

Raj, im refering specifically to the reaction over this incident. I have no personal grip with Indians. But boycotting the PM of Pakistan is a bit over the top. It is rather rude and uncalled for.

That being said, I dont actually support the Raja going there, but for whatever its worth, it is in a personal capacity.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

In a related news, Jaipur and Ajmer had power cut today. Mayor is furious and thinks it has something to do with the presence of Raja ji. ;)

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer…all’s well at home

he wanted his trip to be paid by Pakistani awam not from his own pocket, iss liyai jaldi jaldi chalai gayai raja rental ji..:snooty:

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

Well if your PM wanted this to be a private visit, he could have come a fortnight later when he held no constitutional position, in which case we would not have been obliged to host him like a head of state and have our FM meet and greet him.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer....all's well at home

If U see the things being unfolded, only a small section is opposing his visit to gain some points which are crucial for their survival in the game thats called politics of this subcontinent. And our media is hell bent to catch whatever comes to them in the name of Pakistan. So blaming all Indians for being bad hosts will be a bit too brutal. Thats my take.

Our tradition is "Atithi Devo Bhava" (Guest is like a god), and if some Indians are ready to compromise this grand tradition for their personal benefits, than we are ready to bear the slap on our face too.

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer…all’s well at home

Ahhhh why cant U shift the venue a bit near to ur home? The serene weather of prem gali can work wonders for both side. Is Kholi # 419 or # 421 available for a day or two?

Re: Raja rental off to Ajmer…all’s well at home

**ISLAMABAD: **While officials are reluctant to share details of the expenditures of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf’s Ajmer trip, his boarding a Pakistan Air Force plane suggests the cost has been borne by Pakistani taxpayers.

A 29-member entourage, including the premier and his family, departed for the shrine of Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Gharib Nawaz in Ajmer on Saturday on a special aircraft. The Times of India reported a 40 member entourage, including the crew, was on board.
Foreign Office spokesman Moazzam Ali Khan was unavailable for comments. Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Maj-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa did not respond to phone calls and messages.
“The return airfare from Islamabad to New Delhi to Jaipur and back is over Rs100,000 per person,” said Khawaja Zafar, the director of United Travel Agency, Islamabad.
Had PM Ashraf been making the trip like an ordinary citizen, he would have ended up paying at least Rs3 million on account of travel charges in addition to other costs.
The cost of staying in a five-star hotel either in Jaipur or Agra runs into tens of thousands of rupees. A modest room in a five-star hotel costs at least $200 per night, which would bring the cost of accommodation close to Rs1 million.

“It will immediately be difficult to quantify the financial impact of the premier’s private visit to India, but one thing is evident that the visit is part of a financial hari-kari going on since Ashraf assumed the office of prime minister,” said renowned economist Dr Ashfaque Hasan Khan, who is also Dean of the Business School of National University of Science and Technology.

A guest is one who means us no harm, those are welcome with open hearts and arms. Invading armies, foreign terrorists and their sponsors are not, and never will be to the average Indian (pacifists and candle kissers apart).
