Raj Babbar Faces Criminal Charges

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) Actor Raj Babbar** faces criminal charges for pelting stones **at policemen during a protest march which took place way back in the year 2000. The incident took place near the residence of the Prime Minister when Raj Babbar was part of the Samajwadi party. A Delhi court has finally framed the **criminal charges **against the actor with respect to the incident that took place almost ten years ago.

It has been revealed that Raj Babbar is facing criminal charges as he has been found responsible for pelting stones in a rally that was held outside the residence of the Prime Minister, to showcase protest against the incessant water crisis in the actor’s constituency. Apart from Raj Babbar, who was the Lok Sabha MP from Agra at that point of time, the other Samajwadi leaders who were involved in the incident are expelled leader Amar Singh and MP Sarvraj Singh. The magnitude of the incident can be comprehended from the fact that around 800 party activists also formed a major chunk of the protest rally.

In the court statement, Judge Pritam Singh has charged Raj Babbar as well as other co-accused for forming an unlawful assembly on May 9, 2000. At the same time, the judge also found the actor and the other co-accused guilty of restraining complainant SI Mahender Singh as well as other policemen from carrying out their duties by **pelting stones **at them during the protest rally.

Raj Babbar is presently serving his fourth term as a Member of Parliament. Currently, he is a MP from Firozabad.
