Raita, chutneys and sauses

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if someone had nice and tried out recipies for raitas and sauces you can have along with dinner and rice meals.

I was thinking of some tandoori sauce or some great raitas and chutneys!

Hope to get many ideas form you guys!

Grate a cucumber and squeeze-out excess water, add it to a cup of beaten yoghurt to which salt has already been added. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add to it zeera, rai and kari patta.. (this is the tempering).

I make mint sauce but it's for eating with daals and bhujiyas.

Re: Raita, chutneys and sauses

My mum makes a beautiful chutney. Blend 2 cloves of garlic with a load of fresh corrander and of course green chillies. Add yoghurt, black pepper and salt to taste. Goes well with anything for me :)

Re: Raita, chutneys and sauses

Have you tried anardana ki chutney.. will come back and post mama's secret recipe.. won't be so secret anymore

Okay. I use traditional stone and wooden grinder for my recipe…it looks like this http://img.diytrade.com/cdimg/177438/6967167/-1/1225087818/China_Dingli_Stone_Co_ltd.jpg

I put pomegranate seeds in a stone grinder(I grind them in an electric grinder if I’m in a hurry) after that I add salt and red chilli powder and then I add mint and green chillies and grind them well then I add a small tomatoe(cut in pieces) and grind until everything is mixed and becomes a paste, then i add little bit of water, mix it and there you go. (you can also add some onion slices with mint if you like)
