*Maybe this guy had a point, because hes inheriting a decade of mismanagement in his ministry, but apart from offering such a poor alternative, shouldnt he offer his resignation instead?

HYDERABAD: Minister of State for Railways Muhammad Jadam Mangrio advised the passengers to recite Durood Sharif while traveling by trains.
Speaking to newsmen here on Monday, he said railway track is outdated, while trains and railway lines are also in appalling state.
To a question, he said that he would not resign.
*The minister said that he would continue to inform the nation about the corruption in Pakistan Railways. *
Maybe this guy had a point, **because hes inheriting a decade of mismanagement in his ministry*, but apart from offering such a poor alternative, shouldnt he offer his resignation instead?

Yeh a decade ago, high speed trains with no delays were running all over the Pakistan. Pak Railways known as the best in the world ..etc..etc.
At least he suggested a good thing, actually as a Muslim we should try to recite darood all the time !
Re: Railway Minister advises people to recite Durood for safety
Pak Railways was in much better shape in the 90s than it was in the 2000s. Furthermore, the guy assigned to turn the railways around in Pakistan, Shiekh Rashid Ahmed failed miserably. Look at India, in the 2000s, a sheedah like Laloo Prasad Yadav turned the tables around and made it into a high profit yielding sector. This new guy is also sheedah.

..
I think that this is exactly why he should not offer his resignation. Who is going to fix the place if everyone started to resign based on the mishaps that happened because of decades of mismanagement?
Re: Railway Minister advises people to recite Durood for safety
^ I am not saying he should resign because hes inheriting a dead horse, I am saying he should resign based on the fact that he has no solution except offering durood.
p.s. nice to see you taking an interest in PA all of a sudden! Good change, and hope to see you here permanently.
You have to go beyond 90's. Even in 90's, railway was incurring heavy losses. PR was profitable organization till seventies when mardood Zia-ul-haq introduced NLC spending billions of $s importing expensive trucks and trailers from Germany and took away the railway share of freight from Karachi Port. That not only resulted in declined railway revenue but also huge damage to infrastructures by heavy movement of NLC trucks. These trucks were used to haul drugs and illegal weapons from north to Karachi. Guess who benefited from these illegal trades?:)
*Mush's government imported non-standard unfit engines and coaches from China, again incurring billions of $s in losses to Pakistan Railways. Zia started dismantling of this most efficient and cheap mode of transport for poor people of Pakistan, Mush hammered the final nail in the coffin of railway system once known for its cheap, clean, efficient, safe and proftiable operations. *
