Rahman Malik - Continuing Wasi Zafar's legacy

So now that we have the pro-mushies from the PPP in key positions, I would like to point out that we finally have Wasi Zafar’s replacement, meet Rahman Malik, who now seems to be incharge of the PPP in Zardar’s absence.

Thank you Zardari for sidelining the real PPP into the back seat, and bringing the pro-Mushy clowns such Taseer and Rahman, aka glorious defenders of the NRO into the limelight. Its sad that these clowns were brought into the limelight at the expense of real PPP stalwarts like Aitezaz or Makhdoom Fahim. PPP’s legacy is down the craphole for sure!

re: Rahman Malik - Continuing Wasi Zafar's legacy

^^ Isn't Wasi Zafar an Ex-PPP man as well?

Correct, then he jumped ships and joined the Q Lota League.

Re: Rahman Malik - Continuing Wasi Zafar's legacy

spock, we will see such ppl in every administration. and we have seen them in every administration. The basic way our politics is run needs to change, the focus and support based on personalities, ethnicities etc has to end for ppl to be able to call a spade a spade, whether that spade is a musharraf cronie, a zardari jiyala, a nawaz chamcha, a Qazi robot, an altaf mouthpiece..whoever.

That is not the case unfortunately.

Right, but the only jokers hand picked by Zard-ari are the pro-Mush ones, and Rahman Malik is on tv 24/7 these days, as if he was running the country in Zardari's absence. Seriously, the man is a disgrace and is a former corrupt FIA polciya.

Yehi reh gya tha musharraf key payoon chaatney ke liye?

Re: Rahman Malik - Continuing Wasi Zafar’s legacy

if i recall correctly rahman malik was benazir’s right hand man, want he?

Rehman Malik pops up as Benazir’s lone confidant

Rehman Malik, former Additional Director General, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), who has popped up as the exclusive principal political adviser to exiled former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, is going to clinch a dreamy niche in any future governmental setup in which she has a major share.

“I think Malik will turn out to be another Happy Minwallah or Shahid Hassan,” a senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader sarcastically remarked to The News on condition of anonymity.

Malik singled out as the lone confidant of Bhutto, who accompanied her from London to

Abu Dhabi where she had a crucial meeting with President General Pervez Musharraf to seal a deal.

She had deliberately left behind the entire senior PPP leadership, including even Makhdoom Amin Fahim, gathered in the British capital. She had not even bothered to drop a hint to anyone of them that she was departing London for an offshore decisive political meeting.

and

When fearless Maj-Gen (retd) Naseerullah Babar was interior minister, Malik’s knack had highly impressed him and he was involved in all the operations, including those targeting the political rivals of the government that the boss had commanded.

He was instrumental in manhandling by a FIA team of Mian Mohammad Sharif (father of Nawaz Sharif) during his arrest from his Lahore office. At the time, Malik had also clicked the prime minister.

However, his real closeness to Bhutto materialized in London. National Security Council Secretary Tariq Aziz while acting as one of point men of Musharraf in offstage talks with the PPP for a reconciliation that has finally taken place, often talked to Malik, among others, for the purpose. Important messages used to be passed and returned through Malik.

Re: Rahman Malik - Continuing Wasi Zafar's legacy

Nope, Benazir's PPP consisted of people like Naheed Khan, McDoom etc, this was Zardaris, Musharraf friendly PPP, and another example was Taseer, the new Governor of Punjab. Malik just turned up in the limelight with the whole BB Musharraf deal, before that he was just an ousted FIAer. Seriously now the whole Mush-Zardari-Rahman conspiracy theory to kill BB is starting to make some sense.

Clearly, the Musharraf-Shujaat nexus is now Musharraf-Zardari era. Long live emperor Musharraf.

he did have a rather sudden rise to the top during the whole deal that BB was making and the dreaded NRO etc.

I have heard conspiracy theories about his involvement in some BB assassination plot.

Do you think that Zardari not accepting govt verdict yet not allowing post mortem, and escalating it to UN makes any sense? or was it just a fake out? If that is the case then with UN accepting to investigate, mush-zardari and malik must be shaking in their hawai chappals. or if the UN investigation in the end clears all then there is a bigger international game than just these three characters

Re: Rahman Malik - Continuing Wasi Zafar's legacy

I think the UN investigation came a bit too late... Should have been called for, right away... The problem is, even if the Govt was clean, the people were so skeptical because of the way the Govt was running things then, that they immediately blamed them for her murder. This was also stated in a very nice article in the Economist. If you live in Pakistan, the word on the street is always blaming the Govt for whatever happens, even if its not their fault, because of the way they run things. On top of that, all t hat topi drama they did, from Musharraf backtracking, to doctors being forced to change statements, washing evidence, repeating mollah love talk about her murder in a matter of mins, the infamous lever theory, the videos emerging and all, its obvious no one believed the Govt.

Re: Rahman Malik - Continuing Wasi Zafar's legacy

There are 5 people enjoying a full VVIP protocol in the country right now... They are:
