You can always install pull down shades behind the blind. That will take care of the privacy concerns plus it will act as a shield between the glass and the rest of the room so cold may not seep in.

This is what we did at our previous place, where the radiators were so close to the window, and I was going to suggest the same!

also, if you are worried about the cold seeping in, you can do some weather stripping around the windows to insulate the window with the 3M kit/plastic film..it’s like a shrink wrapped window.. and then have blinds infront… your room will not be cold at all!!!
