sure dude, always up for it, got my ass kicked yesterday but had a great match. the three things I have to work on are positioning, speed and stamina, speed and stamina will come itself, positioning i have to be more deliberate about because too many times I was not center court and waited too far back or too much to the left or right and a shot i should have picked up was missed..and in some cases I just did not even bother to try, too far, too exhausted etc etc.
Positioning in the end depends upon how good you have played the ball. If you have made your opponent to run into the corners, the whole court is yours, and its easy to get into a good position, if you have played a bad cross, or too close to yourself, its too hard to get to centre.
not just ow well you have played the shot but how deliberate are you, people slack off and/or develop bad habits in sports, wrong grips, wrong placements, wrong positioning, the best shot will not help you if you are not thinking and executing the game properly
after a while it becomes a reflex, unless one becomes too tired in course of game
I dont know about the reflex part, it requires more thinking than reflex, in any sport even at the highest level you see people making mistakes or errors because they are not thinking right or executing right. especially evident in soccer, hockey, basketball etc, but pretty much any sport. Aside from fatigue, other factors include discipline, thinking, planning, pressure, and more.. all play a role.
Have you ever had a racquetball whipped at you....my goodness does it leave a mark!!!
have I ever? oh man..yes..sometimes i will go week without getting hit, 2 weeks ago I got hit 3 times in one day.
worse is being hit by the racquet in a backswing by the opponent, gets really frantic in a doubles or even cut-throat, too many racquets and ppl moving about in a rather limited space.
well first of all in badminton you dont serve a ball anyways.
secondly in squash and racquetball when someone says they were playing singles, it does not mean they were playing against the wall.
here is a link, there are other sources out there with slight differences in their results.
badminton for someone 190 lbs ranges from 388-604 calories per hour low end is recreational high end is competitive.
squash is 1035 calories i assume for competitive play
I usually play anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours olay time, not counting warmup and rest breaks, most often its best of 3, take a few minutes between each game. about one hour for one best of 3 is about right, depending on how tough it was I will go for another one or not and whether i have time and the court is free.
I've been playing badminton for about two weeks now, nothing official just with my sister/brother in the garden, we play for 45 minutes - 1 hour. great to build ur stamina, Plus gives u a real buzz :D
i never got into badminton althoughi have played it, my sister played for her university team and both my bros played competitively, great sport..speed, stamina, agility, finesse and explosive power. Its sad that i dont get a chance to see it on sports TV much, great sport.
