racism

Re: racism

The boy is an ignorant fool and its a good sign that his mother had a go at him...
I'd just like to point out however that this isnt racism its prejudice...there is a difference

Re: racism

you shoulda told them to be afraid casue u know wher ethey live and everything, punctuated with maniac laughter

Re: racism

I think the best way to deal with these ppl is to have sabr.. Our Prophet (SAW) showed us how it is done and I think we should try to follow the same.. :) may Allah help us all

Re: racism

I was looking at the crystal ball like you asked me shazi.
Hmmmm…i see a man in overalls, drinking beer…yes, he is drunk…driving on I-95 in his Ford Pickup. He seems to have lost all his incisors and couple of molars. Wait a min…i think he just got pulled over…and then there is a chase. He is caught…previous warrant for his arrest for pedophilia…long story short…he is now Bubba’s girlfriend in the slammer.

Re: racism

lol

Re: racism

^ racial "verbal" attacks may be replied by innocence and politeness.

Like the kid said there can be a bomb and you can ask, "What is a bomb".

Re: racism

so thats why they call em’ crackers…

Re: racism

Racism exists and more or less it's everywhere. Then again who are we to complain? Many of us Pakistanis put down Blacks, Tamils and Chinese (probably others too) for a number of things.

Re: racism

but just because everyone does it, it doesn't make it right.

Re: racism

Racists are sons/daughters of bitches.

Re: racism

Da racistano pa kuna dandai mandal ghwari

Re: racism

well..this is interesting i dont kno what ur talkin about the black boys get less rishtey den the white but that aint racism, racism hurts wen ur a pakistani living in the UK and the white ppl here discriminate u becoz u follow another culture that shouldnt happen but it does. All i wana say is no matter if ur black or white we all smile in the same language no1 is diffrent.

Re: racism

:rotfl: i think i’m the only other person who understood this.

Again thats not racism...people in the UK dont have a problem with Hindus and Sikhs because they share their culture to a higher degree than Muslims do...Blacks are more or less fully assimilated...the reason Pakistanis tend to have a hard time is because they are Muslim not cos they are brown...those hijabis that got beat after the bombings were beat cos of the hijab which showed they were Muslim not because of being brown...
I'm not suggesting racism isnt an issue...im just saying that its less of an issue than we think...when a paki assimilates and acts like a gorah then he tends not to have problems...when one sticks to his own culture he has problems...the issue is of a culture clash rather than ignorant racism...

Re: racism

Ouchhh!!

Re: racism

Why is gupshup getting more and more negative comments ... and picking on other members ... :(

Re: racism

who picked on who?

Re: racism

Be happy you are the one getting a comment like that or being treated in a bad manner yourself, it's far far worse if people drag your children into this stuff and treat them bad too.

Re: racism

I am from the UK an yes i hav had problems, i dont kno what ur thinkin… but ur wrong. Have u eva been in a situation where ur just walkin home an out of no where a white person starts callin u a “paki” or have u eva been in a situation where ur hated just because u eat curry. NO u havnt! racism comes in diffrent forms so dont u just give me a straight up answer like that!

Re: racism

Mizzsilk...

Sorry if i offended you but you seem to have misunderstood what i was implying...

You asked me whether i have faced any abuse living in the UK...iv lived in council estates all my life...ill leave you to work out whether i have or not...my point is referring to distinguishing between racism and cultural prejudice...i'm not suggesting people are not racist...im just saying that sometimes we get prejudice and racism mixed up...hating hijabis is not racist for instance...hating pakis in salwar kameezes isnt racist...do you get what i mean...racism is hatred solely due to colour...so i hate a white person cos they are simply white for instance...i was making a technical point but to be honest it doesnt detract from the fact that we have a hard time...

The fact is that these paki comments pop up a lot more since 9/11 and especially since these bombings...they dont graffiti a masjid cos they are racist...increase in violent crime against asians isnt becuase of racism...its cos of 9/11 and stuff...a hindu boy i know got beaten up 2 days after the train bombings cos they thought he was Muslim...they just dont like the concept of Muslims...the issue is to do with culture...we carry a culture which is alien to them and their reaction is to hate it...when a paki walks around in a salwar kameeze she gets abuse cos she is different...these same guys will probably try it on with an asian gal they see at a club...do you get what i mean?...obviously there are those that dont...and genuinely hate asian people cos they are asian...but more often than not the issue is to do with the fact that we carry a different culture to them...
