I've already sent PMs to Mods about "jokes" that exploit and mock various races and ethnicities.
I've had no response.
I think GS Admins need to decide what they will allow and what they won't allow. Please take into account the disrespectful and offensive nature of such comments.
All forum rules are clearly stated. If you witness a comment which in your view is offensive and should have been removed or reprimanded, drop a note to the respective forum mods and they will take care of it.
Zakk and Sehar< I think this is the best way to defeat or belittle dimwits who will pick on any aspect to differentiate and affirm their sense of superiority!.

I have NEVER complained about GS but yea this really made my blood boil (refer to Pakora's post).
Hadd hoti hai bakwaas bardasht kernay ki. My parents and my ancestors are Pathans and trust me, I've taken enough sh*t from other Pakistani races about being a Pathan - being called "akhrot" and wtf not. I can only smile and swallow my anger to a certain limit. And then to top it all of, JB is saying "it's just a joke". NO IT ISN'T! Maybe for you it's all a joke but not for me. I've had enough of this. And don't give me your stories of having "many great Pathan friends and joking around with them is a norm". I've many Punjabi friends too and I NEVER make fun of them because I know the only way to get respect is to give it first. Respect has to be earned. JB, I've lost whatever respect I had for you.

Exactly, Hum Sa. I'm sorry to hear that you've had to deal with this crap for so long. I used to think that these types of comments belonged to an older generation in which such feelings of racial and ethnic superiority dominated our interactions. I didn't realize people still participated.
Come on, people. You can't actually think that it's "okay" to mock an entire race/ethnicity. Those jokes demonstrate no wit or intelligence. Their entire goal is to make derogatory comments that make one group feel superior to another.
If such jokes perpetuated incorrect and offensive stereotypes about Islam or Muslims, we wouldn't stand for it.
Isn't it hypocritical to be offended when it applies to ourselves, but to let it slide or even take part in it when it applies to others?
I have seen u using smilie on blonde joke & i guess it was u who not too long ago posted a joke with title something like ke the joke is a “lil racist”.
Than there r other jokes posted, which cross my limit of leniency too & i take them off (Which means, there r others who even have their boundries set far from urs & mine.).
So the point being, if u have a clear mentioned sugestion what words/pharases/comments shouldnt be allowed & why, I will be happy to receive them. Perhaps we can modify the rules based on ur request. Otherwise, as u already have guessed, for me a joke is just a joke & i try to be as mush lenient as i can.
Just to clarify some points: My reason for posting racism 2 intially, recently several pashtun friends of mine have commented that gupshup is a pashtun-bashing web site and they see no reason in joining it.
Secondly with regard to the disntinction between Blonde jokes and Pathan jokes. Racism is defined as "Discrimination or prejudice based on race" which distinguishes it from discrimination on the basis of hair colour.
Lastly, those who say "it's just a joke", I am assuming they have never experienced racism or only feel outraged when it happens to them.
