how much is it??
it must be less in big cities with large immigrant populations…what about those areas where ther are few brown people?? how bad is it? share any experience if you had.

IN general, if you look at North American continent, racism decreeases as you travel from south to north (south of USA to North into Canada). I believe that its very little if any in Canada, in urban or in rural areas both.

my personal observation is that it is not that common. i havent seen much on it. as it is very multicultural people have the patience and tolerance level one would expect. but obviously there are those who cause problems...
there maybe some in white majority areas but most of them are friendly.
i havent had any personal experience on racism that i had faced and i have been here for a long time now.

Its not that bad in Canada. Some of the young men I know (desi men) are employed as guide at CN tower and they deal with angraiz from US, from Urban Canada and rural Canada. They were almost unanimous that they do not feel any raciest behavior from goras from rural areas but they can feel it from some of the US visitors.
Personally I have lived in US as south as SC and NC and other than very few occasion's, I have never felt/faced it.

I live in the States but travel to Toronto atleast once a year, I have family there. From what I've seen it's a lot worse here than in Canada. I have not seen or heard of racism in Canada. It way more common here in the states ..

I have lived here now close to 3yrs...and I have lived in Toronto, Calgary and now in Winnipeg....no issues at all...ofcoz there are a few...but I have personally never experienced it in this country!

Well since very few desis/foreign looking people live there, we being desi/foreign looking wouldn't know.
Any community that is insulated against outside influence/ideas/people would be less receptive to change or 'other' people. In general, the rural people that come to the city are very nice.
