Does anyone over here watches her cooking show (30 minute meal & Rachel Ray show in the morning)? If so, what do you guys think about her cooking?
Have any of you tried her dishes?
Re: Rachel Ray
SHE IS KOOL..i mean her cooking,,,no never tried her recipe.
Re: Rachel Ray
I have tried a couple of pasta dishes. She's actually quite good. Very homely cooking. Great combination ideas as well.
Re: Rachel Ray
I haven't tried her recipies but her tips are always helpful.
Re: Rachel Ray
i find her incredibly annoying and thus have never made anything she's demo'd because i can only stand her for about 5 seconds.
giada de laurentis now, whoooo, i love her!!!!
Re: Rachel Ray
I think Rachel is entertaining but her recipes all have the same spices, cumin overkill!
Re: Rachel Ray
my 6 year old, the middle guy, has decided that he is going to marry rachel-ray when he gets big.

re: rachael ray, agreed! she is wayy to hyper and sometimes it seems like she will jump out the tv screen because she bounces all over the place and flails her arms a lot! Can't stand her. Giada on the other hand: personality wise she seems ok but have you noticed that she suddenly went through a wardrobe change and every single episode of her show has her wearing a top which shows cleavage? what a distraction. I mean, if you've got it, DON'T flaunt it. her recipes are too heavy as well. Rich, creamy sauces. they look yummy but wayy too fatty!
my 2cents.
Re: Rachel Ray
^agreed..lol
Okay, I think it's great that Rachel Ray is out-going. But she needs to town it down because many people feel that it seems unnatural at times. She also should tone down the frequent use of "buzz words." I don't have problem with her saying, "EVOO" because it's unique to her, it's a little too long and wordy to say extra virgin olive oil all the time, and EVOO is kind of like her professional trademark in a sense.
Some of her buzz words make the audience feel like "children." And although that might not be her intention, it can turn off people as it can sound condescending. For example, I've heard her address the viewers as "Kids" several times. That may be fine once in a while, but she seems to overdo it. I'm also not crazy about "Yum-O."
She's a very organized chef with great tips and has managed to reached out to the masses who come home tired from work and want to whip up something delicious in just 30 minutes. The concept is great and her personality is very lively. You can tell that she tries to connect with the audience on many levels and aims to make them feel comfortable or more at-ease with cooking. If she just brought the perkiness down a notch, it would not only be natural, but more attractive. Since she has several positive qualities, it's sad that this one negative trait should be so overwhelming at times.
OOh I can't stand her..she is just too much. And wats with abbreveting EVOO and then actually saying the full name ..so annoying. Her dishes looks crappy anyway so I never botherd.
Re: Rachel Ray
awwwwwww! groovy, u remind me of rachel ray!
I haven't seen much of her show but i recall her from hte DD commercials...
Re: Rachel Ray
I am guessing she is the American/Canadian equivalent of Nigella Lawson! She is annoying too but her recipes are good!
Re: Rachel Ray
The way she laughs or moves her hands is somewhat annoying but for most part I like her show, I like her carefree kind of nature. Also she is not a chef and she doesn't pretends to be one which I kind of like about her.
Besides her, I love Boby Flay...
Re: Rachel Ray
i have never seen her show.. have heard her high pitched voice a couple of times here and there though.. lol.. but going by the comments here, she seems to be the desi chef rahat :D
Re: Rachel Ray
I always thought that she was a bit over the top - a little too gregarious for my liking - but a friend who met her at a book signing said that Rachel was very gracious in person. Even though the organizers at the book signing had told the fans that she would not be personalizing autographs or taking pictures, she went out of her way to interact with her fans and took pictures as well as personalized the autographs.
There was a special needs child who was a huge fan and Rachel made a point to take the time to speak with her and just made her day - my friend said you could see that she spent time with this child not for the photo op - but because she genuinely cared. Made me re-evaulate how I saw. That being said, I've never tried her recipes...
