Todd has a point but "looting" is still bad choice of a word given the times of calamity. I mean it's not like she's carrying TVs or VCRs. AFP and AP are different institutes though. I think it's just sensational journalism not racism.

Surely the point is sensationalist journalism which is different for each race...if the articles are indeed referring to the same incident then its most definitely sensationalist racism which is appalling...

No, I think the point Maniac was trying to make was that they are not using the word "looting" for white people but only for a black woman. Which could be valid if both articles were by the same organization but they are not. But AFP's using the word "looting" does not still mean it's racism unless they have another similiar picture with different race but not calling it "looting".

well generally, there is a huge discrimination against blacks that still exist in states, isnt it? atleast thats what i gather from what i've read and heard.
African americans have on average have lower income and standard of living in America than ur average caucasians apparently.
the thing i find interesting is that when ever they arrest some black guy or any other minority, they tend to show his whole face and his identity on the the news whereas, if its some white guy, they'll try to hide his identity and face on tv, most of the time.
