It may be provocative … she may have provoked you … But then will you listen to my advice as I gave to hareem01? I said “leave provocative questions unanswered” - so since you raised this … “please ignore hareem’s provocative equation” …
Hizb-u-Tahrir, Al-Muhajiroon, et al … are the people I have had direct contact with. I used to go to their lectures, when I was searching for adopting a line of Islam that I felt was true and consistent. I loved their passion, but I disliked some of their methods …
Secrecy
Political agenda
Advocacy for indiscriminate killing in lands of war (harj) - they interpret the killing of non-aggressive members of the opposition permissible targets, which I disagree with.
I am the proof since I have sat with and had discussions with them when they tried to initiate me in to their fold.
Disclaimer: This is not sectarianism - This is my personal finding and I view the Ikhwan members as Muslims and brothers in faith. (It’s a pity that one of them accused my Shaykh of many things … )
Apparently it seems the reason that we helped America invade them in Afghanistan so they are after us.
dont creep things plz. you are exactly following the sectarianism mentioned in post #140
There was little sign of reconciliation, however. Liberals and Shi’ites accused Mursi, who announced he will address the nation on Wednesday evening, of fostering sectarian hatred by associating with radical Sunni preachers.
This is my last post in this topic. Being quiet on these atrocities is long gone, now is the time to expose the evil cults (damaging Islam) and their supporters.
To be clear … no one was comparing all non-Sufis with TTP, just the Ikhwaanis ideology was being compared … some people have also stated that they believe the ikhwaan of the middle-east have started to share traits with the hard liner Salafists. I have heard this on more than one occasion, but I personally reserve judgment. There is a whole waft of Muslims who are neither Sufi, nor Ikhwani nor Salafi - that can be classed as moderate Sunnis who are not being equated with the TTP. To be truer to the picture there are probably some moderate ikhwaanis too, who follow all the religious aspects but not the political ones as much.
It appears that the MB is aware of the comparison people are making with the Salafi groups. The Sheikh denies these are entirely valid … but nested within the article are clues to why there are these comparisons being made.
a) The article admits secrecy is employed by the Ikhwan
b) The article admits that the motive of the Ikhwan is to “make Islam victorious” - which is proactive politics
[My problem with this mindset is that assumption that Muslims can make Islam victorious at all … Islam being dominant comes from Allah (SWT), when we correct our own ways as Muslims … This is similar to Zionism - where the Zionist Jews believe they need to actively make Zion victorious]
c) The next clue can be obtained from the following paragraph:
**Splits within groups happen frequently, and this applies to all groups; whether Islamist or not. The main reason is because some people do not like continuous silence and peaceful struggle, and they have a violent and revolutionary character, and hence they split, and establish another group whose course is based on violence. However, more important is the **mother group, and in many cases this is the one that remains, and the splinter groups dissolve into society.
So the word is “Don’t judge the brother by the splinter, judge the brother by the mother”
Note: I highlighted something in “red” above … Being hit and killed and losing patience to react with vengeance without following the instruction from authority is a sign of the lack of strong character. Tassuwwuf would have helped many ikhwan who went rogue and prevented them from becoming a splinter in the side of the mother group.
For Islam to be victorious - the Muslims need to self-correct - self-correction includes giving da’wah (inviting others), through good neighbourly conduct with others and being good examples for other people to emulate and good within ourselves … but it does not include “appointing ourselves as flag-bearers to MAKE Islam victorious” - Victory (in the earthly, stately sense) comes from Allah (SWT) to whoever He chooses - Read in the Qur’an … We merely adopt the best model - and pray that Allah (SWT) gives victory to “us” to make it easy on us to practice Islam, but if He chooses to give victory to anyone else we are unmoved by this and resign in His Wisdom and Will.
We fight to relieve oppression not to gain power - but if power comes our way then we don’t turn it away either.
