No I believe we have made our choices using our instinct experience and intellect...plus perhaps a touch of being at the right place at the right time kind of luck.

Who really knows?
I tend to think it might be true, because Allah had decided which persons would be born, which humans would excist. So that means he had already decided which men and women should unite to have those children which were already meant to be.
