this is how i make

Blend the tomatoes with their skin, along with the coriander leaves and the green chillis to a smooth paste.

Heat the oil in pan, add the fenugreek leaves, followed by the garlic and ginger paste. Stir for a minute, then add the onions. Fry until they are transluscent. Add the blended tomatoes and the spices (cumin, turmeric, coriander powders) and let these fry for a few minutes on low heat.
let this cook/simmer until the gravy thickens .

Then add the kidney beans(boiled) plus some salt and stir together for a few minutes.

Finally add about some water and let it come to a boil. Cover the pan, and cook on medium heat for about 10-12 minutes.

let it simmer for a few minutes until required consistency.

I use tin one but if u r not using tht thn u have to boil them separately or u can use pressure cooker n when add kidney means in mixture thn can wait till beans r tender u have to add water like 3 to 4 cups

I am afraid if using pressure cooker so can I just boil them n discard the water..right?

Oh Leo I don't have fenugreek leaves..would seeds be okay? I may have dried leaves though so will see if I can fnd it.

yeah i m also afraid of pressure cooker thts y used the tin ones yeah u can simply boil them u can skip fenugreek if u want :)

Rajma = kidney beans

I use the light red ones. Soak them overnite and boil the next day with some salt, 1 black cardamom. Reserve the liquid.

Then I make it like a regular gosht ka salan...bhun the onions, tomatoes, ginger garlic, spices, add the boiled beans and liquid and cook till all mixed up.

I make the reg masala i.e onion, tomatoes, salt, red mirch pd, corriander powder etc in a pressure cooker, bhoonify masala.
As the masala is ready add pre soaked rajma. And pressure cook them.
