R&D fund directors fired for rejecting Khosa's inlaw having fake degree

Depressing stuff. Amongst the names I recognize pretty capable people that should be involved in this stuff if we have any chance of development.

ISLAMABAD: Six directors of the Information Communication Technology Research and Development Fund were shown the door for their refusal to appoint Azhar Manzoor as the ICTR&DF Chairman.

Manzoor is the brother-in-law of Prime Minister’s Adviser on Information Technology Latif Khosa.

According to a notification issued by the Information Technology Ministry today, Sikandar Taqi, Wahaj al Saraj, Zafar Usmani, Dr Amir Mateen, Dr Suhail Naqvi and Prof Dr. Mansoor Sarwar, have been removed from their offices with an immediate effect.

Sources say the slot of the chairman of ICTR&D Fund was lying vacant, which Latif Khosa tried to fill, recommending his in-law for this position.

However, the directors of ICTR&D Fund sent Manzoor’s degree to the Higher Education Commission for verification. The HEC confirmed that the degree was no obtained from a recognized university.

On this, out of 12, six directors refused to approve Azhar Manzoor’s name as the Chairman of ICTR&DF, after which they were fired with immediate effect.

Thats not news. Few days back deputy attonery general was fired for not going to airport to welcome the law minister Babar Aawan.

Just a week ago, I was writting to senators and others and Sohail Naqvi ,exec director hec emailed to correct some facts of 30% hec funds cuts in PSDP 2010-2011.Javed Leghari also wrote a letter to PM. Such a loss but what else you expect from **Jiyala Bharti **government.
