Don’t know if this is true or not, So Hopefully you guys can answer this question.
Basically, today I went for Friday prayers. But I missed the Qutba, some of my friends in the Mosque said that your Friday prayer is not accepted because you missed the qutba.
First Of all learn the word ... what you missed ... its NOT qutbah .. its ''Khutba'' ...
and secondly if you had the intention to join the khutba then your namaz is ok .. but if you delayed the prayer and you missed the khutba for no reson at all then your namaz is invalid .... but then thas why we read zuhr parayer also to ensure that if jumah farz are not accepted then zuhr namaz will cover it ...
I even heard that if u miss 4 consecutive jummas ur done......
*oh well havent been to a mosque in 7 years..... khutba or jumma tu dour ki baat hai.. *

Dont worry brother. Phoenetically, both Qutba/Khutba are correct. Many of the Urdu Speaking community of Hyderabad Dakkan often pronounce Kh as Q and vice versa. Similarly, some Arabs pronounce Friday as Yaum-al-Jumma (with Jeem sounding like J) while some pronounce it as Yaum-al-Gumma (with Jeem sounding like G).
All what I can say is that only Allah Almighty knows whether HE acceptd your Jumma Prayers or not. In my humble opinion HE, The Oft-Forgiving accepted your Jumma Prayers as you did not miss the** Khutba/Qutba** on purpose.

Secondly : the word isnt an Urdu word that he made a mistake ... its an ARABIC word ... and it is Khutbah ... i know this cos i live in Arab country...
and yes they pronounce J with G ...but the word Khutbah has always been khutbah ...

If you are reffering to the common misconception that one who doesnt pray three consecutive Jummah, leaves Islam, then its false and not true. Committing a major sin doesnt make you leave Islam unless you do it thinking of it as permissible.

Your prayer will be considered as jumma prayer but because you miss the khutba but you attended do rakat of zuhar. If you missed do rakaat also then you missed your jumma prayers and you had to pray regular zuhar prayers.
