u dont have to do qurbani in islam .. its jst a traditional thing..anyways i think its abt 170 pounds

Yes. If you have a certain amount of silver in your possession, then yes. So these days almost every adult has that much.

Eco may be right that it is wajib and not fardh. Wajib is highly recommended. Like witr salat.

Qurbani is Waajib on a person so long as the person is saahib-e-Nisaab (having minimum wealth in the form of 7-1/2 tola gold or 52 tola silver * or equivalent).*
