So I was wondering how do you people decide what to buy for Bakra Eid and how far in advance…like how do you decide ummmmm bakra this year , maaj the next , doombaa the year after
What about those of you living abroad , have you ever do qurbani there and what’s the reaction of non-muslims to it ?..
Is it even possible to do qurbani in places like US or UK
And don’t you get kinda attached to them and isn’t it difficult to see them being zibbaaa-ed ?***
There are farms owned by muslims in USA and if you are way too interested in butchering a goat, cow or lamb yourself, you can do that there. Most of the people go through their halal meat shop who would do the qurbani on their behalf. I go with NGOs so the meat get distributed in Pakistan amongst needy people
My parents always send money to Pakistan for Qurbaani (so our relatives do it for us in Pakistan). I don't think its allowed in Ireland... even if it was, there aren't really any poor people whom you'd distribute the meat to.
I've seen only one qurbaani in Pakistan and it gives me nightmares! :( :( Also, one eid, one of our neighbour's cow ran away a short while before qurbaani bhehe... but they caught it again! =(
I never knew that !..most of my friends who live abroad usually instruct relatives etc to carry out the qurbanis on their behalf…but this does seem like a novel idea…Only thing is who do u give the meat away too
The cow Elopeddddddddddddddddddddd ****
But yeah I can’t see the lil goats being slaughtered…:(***
BC , Qurbani meat is not for poor people only. In fact if you cannot find any poor people you can consume all of it.
In USA you can go to some of the local animal farms and slaughter your own animal then the owner of the farm will clean and cut the meat according to your instructions.
Yes but why consume it all yourself or give it to people who don't need it, knowing that there's millions of needy people in Pakistan, especially this year due to floods. I think its best to get the qurbaani done in Pakistan.

Yep. For years I get the Qurbani done in Pakistan , flood or no flood.
As mirch mentioned, you dont have to share the qurbani meat with anyone (unlike Aqeeqa meat that you have to divide in 3 parts ) so people share the meat with their friends and use the rest of it.
Yes. We go to the slaughter house. Earlier years we just told people in Pakistan to do it for us. It was my first time a few years back, I ziba-ed a baby goat. It was nerve recking but then 2 mins later everything was done.
Here in NY most people just end up going to slaughter houses or they have their relatives do it for them in Pakistan.
are there any limitations on what you can select for qurbani? as long as it is not prohibited.
so lets say, can someone select an ostrich, emu, panda, koala, llama, alpaca, etc?
^I think the question should be if they are halaal to eat? based on the majority of countries the animals used are Buffalo, Camel, Cow, Deer, Lamb-they are halaal and most people eat them.
Wen i was little, our bakra used to come a few days before eid. I would get really attached to it and then cry on the eid:(
Now my mom orders bakra or cow beforehand and the butcher brings it along and slaughters on the eid day.

I would say that none of the animals I noted has been noted as being haram.
panda and koala may be dodgy but I dont know if they are haram, I cant see an issue with alpacas and llamas or ostrich and emu
Errr.....I don't even know if this is legal..........but our men buy bakras........let them run around the day before......and on Eid day all get together and do the qarbaani.......other half of the family sends money to pakistan........

In California we had this one muslim farm where you can go and cut the bakra and it wasn't that expensive even compare to Pakistan . I think in like 200 bucks you can get the meat and all .
This year in Pakistan very less bakray because of floods and their smuggling to Afghanistan . So yup its gona be expensive and won't be easy to find a bakra at all .
