I know a lot of people who do their qurbani via Edhi. I believe you can do a bakra for $150 each or have one hissa in a cow for $70.
But here's my question: How is Edhi able to get this done for so cheap? My cousin in Karachi paid Rs. 150,000 for his cow.

Yes, I know that a cow can be divided into 7 hissay. But Edhi is only charging roughly Rs. 6000 for 1 hissa........which equals about Rs. 42,000 for all 7 hissays. I don't think you can find a cow in Pakistan for Rs. 42,000 or even Rs. 50,000.

Cows start from 35k and go up. A cousin bought three, a pair for 45K each and the third for 48K. We got a pair of Bakrey for 40K.

Rs. 45K for a cow? That is a good deal.........because we were told Rs. 100K and up for a cow.

Initial demands are considerably higher in the beginning (as much as 2 to 3 times more) but as Eid gets closer, the demands drop way down. A cow that was for 95K 2 weeks back ended up becoming as cheap as 40K 2-3 days before Eid.

What i dont get is.... Arent u supposed to divide the meat in 3 parts? So if ppl send their money to edhi etc for bakra eid... There goes 2 divisions..family and parosi. Its only one division (the poor) that get the whole meat.
Is this ok when u DO have family tbat should be getting a hissa?
We live abroad... And send money to one family member or another and they divide the meat for us... But we make sure that proper 3 divisions are made... Sure the poor section gets more. But 3 divisions still.

Also, I'm sure as hell don't claim to read thoughts (I am pretty good at it though).
But it seems that recently, a lot of people have started going Qurbani in Pakistan because they can't afford to do it overseas.
