Salaam,
There are a few Quran-only brothers on here, I have a question for you..
Do you believe cremation is an acceptable alternative to burial or not?
I’m curious to know whether the Quran says anything about funeral/burial rites or not?

I was actually reading up on this before you posted.
Essentially one quote from the Hadith states:
The beloved Prophet (upon him be peace) said, ‘ Breaking the bone of a corpse is like breaking the bone of a living person.' .
Obviously, in the cremating procedure, the entire body is damaged. In view of the above, cremating a body is Haraam.
Re: Quranists and cremation
Bro, this thread is for the Quran-only brothers, they don't believe in extra-Quranic Ahadeeth/Sunnah.
Can your provide a source for the Hadith you posted?

I'll post the Hadith again:
"Breaking the bone of the dead [human being] is like breaking it while s/he is alive." Malik, Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majah narrated it from `A'isha, Allah be well-pleased with her.
But it does state inSurah Abasa (80:21):
' [Then He causes him to die, and places him in his grave].
Many Ulema refer to this quote when speaking about cremation.

am i the only one offended by having quran only quotes? Hadith and Sunnah are also very important. How can you not "believe" /follow it?
Jazak Allah Khair bro. :k:

Sister these are not my views, I simply wanted the view point of another sect.

I'm offended that you're offended when no offense was ever intended nor opinion given to offend. Why do you have to internalize this and make it a slight against you?
For the love of God people, learn to read and follow instructions. He asked what he asked.

Do you get offended at all those people who do not believe in every thing you believe in ?
If yo do then you have anger management problem.
This world is composed of 6.2 Billion people , all of them are not going to believe in what you believe in. What can you do about it ? Get offended ,if you do , then you have very big problem.

oh ok. i did not know about this other sect.
i just find it odd that people who believe in Allah and the Qur'an, do not "believe" or follow The Best of All Creation, Ahadith and Sunnah. All of this, plus the Quran go hand in hand.
Allah SWT gave us the Siratul Mustaqim to walk on, and the Holy Prophet SAW guided us on the path.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but me, being a Muslim, it is my duty to guide them.
i should say im more saddened than offended on what other people believe in.
not sure what anger management has to do with all this.

The treatment is same for getting offended and getting saddened by the things which are not in your control.
