Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

i know there are some really beautiful verses talking about the treatment of women in the quran but is it only talking about the way Muslim men should treat a woman regardless of whether she is nonmuslim or muslim or is it only to Muslim women.

I ask this because i’ve seen some Muslim men say that they only need lower their gaze in the presence of muslim women and the treatment(in the quran) only speaks about muslim women not nonmuslim women…

PS: i didn’t have time to do a search for old threads that might have the same topic. please direct me to it, if there is one.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

I don't know the exact verse but even I know that's dodgy. Lower your gaze applies to all womenkind. I am by no means perfect but I don't try to justify my actions by twisting the Quran's interpretation.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

And I heard from a scholar ( Allah is my witness I am not lying ) that one of his teachers opined that , lowering of gaze does not apply if a woman is dressed scantily.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

Lol. I guess porn is legal then.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

Men are supposed to lower their gaze when they come across any woman, muslim or non muslim.

But I have seen many niqaabi women who taaR taaR key mardoN ko dekhti hain through their net windows in their niqaabs :ASA:.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

Lowering the gaze is ordained for men not for women anyways.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women…

Yes but that doesn’t mean they should stare. Taking advantage of their positions isn’t right either :chai:

That was offtopic, but yeah.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

^ They also "taarofy" other women. I just hate that.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

Pehli nazar jaaiz hai :D

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

thanks y'all for the help

what's the point of lowering of the gaze, I thought initially it was to resist any temptations...?

plus even when a nonmuslim woman is dressed modestly, those verses in the quran don't apply or do they apply .

sorry it might seem like a stupid question but some say it's for all womanhood some say all those verses are only in regards to muslim women. isn't there a verse that actually clarifies this that i might have missed

:salam2:

Surat An-Nur Ayat No. 24:31

The rule of modesty applies to men as well as women. A brazen sate by a man at a woman (or even at a man) is a breach of refined manners. Where sex is concerned, modesty is not only “good form”: it is not only guard the weaker sex, but also to guard the spiritual good of the stronger sex. The need of modesty is the same in both men and women. But on account of the differentiation of the sexes in nature, temperaments, and social life, a greater amount of privacy is required for women than for men, espeically in the matter of dress and the uncovering of the bosom.

While all these details (see above verse) of the purity and good form of domestic life are being brought to our attenstion, we are clearly reminded that the chief object we should hold in view is our spiritual welfare. All our brief life on this earth is a probation, and we must make our individual, domestic, and social life all contribute to our holiness, so that we can get the real sucess and bliss which in the aim of our spiritual endeavour. Mystics understand the rule of decorum themselves to typify spiritual truths. Our soul, like a modest maiden, allows not her eyes to stray from the One truth God. And her beauty is not for vulgar show, but for God.

Hence, others religions book Bhagvat Gita, Bible also order for lower gaze.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

So why does hinduism has nude idols and so many pornographic images? Images which cannot even be posted here.
This is unmatched by Christianty, Judaism and Islam.

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women…

yes the ultimate goal is to keep our focus on God and to rid our minds of all impure thoughts that would sway our minds away from temptations and lustful thoughts regardless of the religions that a person might be following. you’re right that is common in all religions, i like what you said.

so it’s how we as individuals present ourselves and keep ourselves in check regardless of how others act or dress or are practicing islam in full or not?

well it was mostly only a clarification about whether in islam it is asked upon muslim men to dress modestly and keep the mind pure when it concerns looking at a woman, does it matter whether the woman is muslim or nonmuslim. or are there a lot of if statements like in programming that come along with it. obviously it is harder to keep the mind pure and avoid temptation if the woman isn’t clothed in burkha and niqaab or do all those orders that have been asked upon practicing muslim men become null and void if the woman isn’t muslim or if the woman isn’t dressed in niqaab and burkha.

does practicing hijab have to be mutual or does a man have to practice it regardless of whether the woman(muslim or nonmuslim) is practicing it.

Peace Diwana!

If we ask to a learned Hindu who is well versed with the Hindu Scriptures, he will reply that the Hindus should actually believe and worship only “one God”. Oneness of God & Prohibition of Idol worship are also mentioned in VEDA: Yajur Veda 32:3, 40:8-9; Rig Veda 1:164:46, 6:45:16; UPANISHAD: Khandogya: 6:2:1, Shwetashvatara 6:9, 4:20; GEETA: 7:20, 10:3; BRAHMA SUTRA; //BIBLE: Leviticus 26:1; Exodus 20:4.

peoples who mis-guide or mis-lead others, can be found in every religion.

Peace Nisha25!

As per the same verses, "here “Zinat” means both natural beauty and artificial ornaments. I think both are implied here, but chiefly the former. The woman is asked not to make a display of her figure except to the following classes of people:

1- her husband
2- her near relatives who would be living in the same house, and with whom a certain amount of neglige is permissible
3- Her women i.e. her maid-servants, who would be constantly in attendance on her; some Commentators include all believing women. It is not good form in a Muslim household for women to meet other women except when they are properly dressed;
4- slaves, male and female, as they would be in constant attandance but this item would now be blank, with the abolition of slavery
5- old or infirm men-servants and
6- infants or small children before they get a sense of sex.

Even one of the tricks of showy or unchastic women to tinkle their ankle ornaments to draw attention to themselve.

If we read first few verses (from 1 to 6) of Surah Al Mu-minun (The Believers), where Almighty Allah SWT said: “The Muslims must guard himself against every kind of sex abuse of sex perversion”. The new psychology associated with the same of Freud traces many of our hidden motives to sex, and it is common knowledge that our refinament or degradation may be measured by the hidden workings of our sex instincts. But even the natural and alwful exercise of sex is restricted to the marriage bond, under which the rights of both parties are duly regulated and maintained.

Practicing hijab, Veil/Head Scarf mentioned in other religious boook too i.e. Rig Veda: 8:33:19; BIBLE: 1st Corinthians 11:5

Re: Quranic Verses Regarding women.....

well I only asked about islam and the quran b/c you, would only know about that, the issue with idol worship is something I think only a learned hindu should talk about. Lethal kamikazi and issues regarding christianity/bible is something only knowledgeable christians should talk about or else misinformation can be spread like you're doing right now about idol worship and hinduism, it's best to leave it to the people of those religions that know their religion very well to explain it.

my question hasn't been answered so i think i'll just ask in another islam forum. could you close this thread please.

I have no clue why diwana entered the thread, it's obvious he only wants to fight b/c his post has nothing to do with the thread topic and God knows why he had to bring up hinduism/idols
