Quran,

does anyone know when Quran was actually put together as a book.

and since we all say that the book is word of GOD
who wrote the first Surah.

Re: Quran,

i do not mean it as an insult, i just would like to know when it was actually put together

Re: Quran,

There are threads on this already - search it.

Basically, Abu Bakr had it compiled into one book-form. Later, Usman or Umar (I forget which) had one standardized compilation that was in one dialect. The one you use today is the one that Umar had selected. This is because between Abu Bakr's compilation and the Umar one there were various compilations recorded in the different arabic dialects of what was the Islamic empire at that time.

To standardize it, they chose one dialect and went with it, although from what I understand this was a big project, and they did make sure that the words weren't fiddled with.

All the compilations of the various dialects were identical in meaning - just different dialects.

I think this is a controversial issue, because among the Quran's that were destroyed of the various other dialects, one was Ali's compilation of it. There are some arguments about some verses being left out etc.

Oh and of course, there is the famous "A goat ate the Quranic ayah that says we should stone adulterers/adulteresses"

There is also a group that says 2 ayahs were added into the Quran - I looked them up though - they're about the Prophet and they're very benign ones - its not like they say "Your rasul is your God - bow down to him" or anything silly like that.

:)

You should search the previous threads on the issue - some guppies researched some interesting info - the details of which would be a waste of time to repeat.

Re: Quran,

^ Please add :razi: after sahbah :razi: names—

Re: Quran,

Mind your editedmouth when you address a Sahabi (R.A). you are doing like calling out your friends name or something … !!!

Re: Quran,

dude chill
you need not be here if you cant take it

Re: Quran,

well what do you know i cant take that even a non-mulim addresses a person like this who did all this for us and gave us the light of islam. I am so damn serios about this. if it wasnt for them we still would have naked women in the streets and people would have performed rape openly and daughters would have still been buried alive.

Re: Quran,

look into any muslim country, its behind close doors, dont think that muslims are any better

Re: Quran,

Ok, lets stick to the topic please.

Re: Quran,

I think PCG was under the influence of sleepy meds when she wrote her story.
She is not like that all the time.

yes people have tried questioning about Quran's authenticity by the way it was compiled.
These questions are asked to spread rumors and this book has remained as it was for centuries without a word changed. Now this is the test which this great book of Allah has passed with flying colors...

Why not ask an Alim or researcher if someone really wants to learn about a historic event?

Re: Quran,

deedawar, I was simply trying to summarize the essence of the previous threads we've had on the topic in case danial shah does not want to look them up.

Did that guy who is telling me to add (R)'s after people's names just curse? Just because I don't add a friggin R out of absentmindedness or whatever on an internet website doesn't mean I don't respect these people. Please take some viagra or something, newbie.

Re: Quran,

PCG!
You may want to copy and paste the (R) picture or write (RATA).
I do that mistake also sometimes...its just plain courtesy and respect.
Don't know if its part of religeon.

Thanks for compiling the threads. Daniel does not appear to have good intentions starting these threads which make no benefit to anyone.

Re: Quran,

saying :razi: everytime you say their name is’nt fardh, and you wont be punished if you dont say it every single time. But you definetly will get punished for cussing out.

Imams and Khateebs .. usually miss out :razi: when delivering a sermon, or when addressing to people, but having respect for them is required. You can say Radhi Allah Anhum (may Allah be pleased with them all), once, at the end of your passage.

Re: Quran,

PCG, its just like this : How would you feel if someone calls your Father ’ Oye, Tairaye abu naye ye kia…’ would you like that person addressing your father like that ? I am sure you won’t. Those sahaba ikraam r.a are fathers to us, the pioneers of islam. If you have respect for them in your heart that is GREAT, but IMO do not be a miser in showing your respect opennely on these so called websites. By not showing your grattitue and respect to theSahaba like Hazarat Usman-e-Ghani r.a and Hazarat Abu Bakkar, you are not setting a great deal of example for non-muslims.
Just my 2 cents. But again you are a hard headed person and every one knows that so you will do what you want to do. Peace
-Salman

Re: Quran,

xxxxxxyyyyy786... sorry to break it to you but those things happen even now.

Re: Quran,

.

Re: Quran,

go learn first, what our religion teaches and what it forbids.

Respect resides in the heart, not on the tounge. And another way to respect them is to follow their teachings, which you have clearly violated in this thread.

Re: Quran,

May I say: Respect first resides in heart and therefore is seen on the tongue..

Re: Quran,

yea but there are ways to point out things.you dont yell at people

Re: Quran,

you are perfectly right…my post was only in reply to Xlnc786 who started cussing out…and hence prob piled a bucket full of gunaahs in the process.

Not once did i ever say…that we should’nt say :razi: I was just trying to compare what pcg did with what the khateebs do when delivering a lecture. They say
radhi Allah anhum at the end. Khallas…wats the argument abt?
