just wanted to share this with u all…

They lie on the table side by side
The Holy Quran and the T.V. Guide.
One is well worn and cherished with pride.
Not the Quran, but the T.V. Guide.

One is used daily to help folks decide.
Not the Quran, but the T.V. Guide.

As the pages are turned, what shall they see?
Oh, what does it matter, turn on the T.V.
So they open the book in which they confide.
No, not the Quran, but the T.V. Guide.

The Word of Allah is seldom read.
Maybe a verse before they fall into bed.
Exhausted and sleepy and tired as can be.
Not from reading the Quran, from watching T.V.

So then back to the table side by side,
Lie the Holy Quran and the T.V. Guide.

No time for prayer, no time for the Word,
The plan of Istiqama is seldom heard.
But forgiveness of sin, so full and free,
Is found in the Quran, not on T.V.

assalam olaikum

Yeah TV is the 'smoke of the antichrist!' Breaking TVs is a Jihad too, if you doubt me ask the Imam of the Banori Town mosque in Karachi!

:wsalam: its true 100% i agree shaitaan has the biggest communication medium in his hands and he uses it well to derail our minds and thoughts especially towards bad things

why is the tv perceived as the devil? i dont get it...

astafurlah... kalma parhein abhi

serious note: people tend to forget that this medium, whilst helping the devil, also presents us with information from all over the world..

why do we muslims have a habit of always picking out the bad things? we're such half empty glass people...

Its sad but true. Do google for this! Infact do google for 'Penal Code of Pakistan' and you'll end up on a site regarding this issue.

And on top of that they say they're being nice to us by doing just this, and not killing us!

lol yes, and its funny they want the west to give them total freedom of religion despite their terrorist activities, and they choose secularism for India, but they themselves do not give their opponents the right to practice or preach their religion.

Thanks for sharing, Bao Bihari.

I partly agree, in the sence that if you are addicted to tv, you won't get up for salaat until your programme is finished, and then you're late for your prayers. I tell my kidbrother to record it for example, but he can't let go because it's 'too exciting, coming to the plot of the story'.

^ that could happen with any activity in which one's engrossed .. why pick on TV alone..

True, tv is just one of them.

Do you guys know there are actual 'TV-buning campaigns' by religious groups in pakistan? Everybody gets together in an open space and burn tens of TVs, and as they burn, people shout slogans of Islam. Its even covered in newspapers.

The actual problem most molvis have with TV is not the 'addiction', but that it has pictures, which are considered 'Haraam' by them.

and the penal code is perfectly correct...........zandeeqs(why polish thier kufria aqaidh as islam)shouldnot be allowed to do so...................

as far as tv is concerned........it is true that tv has benefits but its harm is more then benefit........the same is true for alcohal ...as given in quran that alcohal has benefit....but its harm is more then benefit so it is haram.........................same should be implied for tv.......

   just think about it

Allah Mian doesnt run out of words... and He knows the future... if tv's were prohibited... He would have mentioned them in the Quran..

knives are bad.. even though they help us cut our vegies and meat... they are used worldwide to murder... slaughter and take human lives.. they should also be considered HARAM..

ropes... they are also bad.. even though they have multiple uses... they are used to strangle... MURDER humans.. .. they should also be considered HARAM..

... think about it

^

Very true... and people can use the private messaging feature on this forum for perverted talk! So Gupshup is also Haraam!
