It is just survey and be honest in your answers.

I read the Quran once in arabic, then nearly finished reading it once more in arabic....... then stopped, and started re-reading it in Arabic, with the English translation there too this time.

And as for namaaz, I know the exact meaning of 80% of what i say, and I know the gist of the rest of it too.....

1) No. I'm planning on doing it that way tho.
2) Yes. Its much easier to concentrate that way.

33 visits and 3 replies.......Umm not very good. Whats wrong with you people?

Ok My answer is;

1- I only know Surah Fatiah with translation
2- Yes I do read with translation because I don’t understand Arabic.

OK result so are (including me)

Out of people replied

25% know full translation of Namaz
50% know partial translation pf Namaz
25% don’t know the translation of Namaz

AND

100% people read Quran with translation.

Alhamdolillah I have read Quran with Urdu translation more than once. And I know prayer (Salat) with translation (but when reciting a sura I may not necessarily be able recall all of its meaning).

Mr Tariq786USA, you can buy a CD from www.Soundvision.com, which will have Quran with Translation, all of Sihah sitta (the Six Sahih compilations of Hadith) for about 85-90$.

We oughta be Changez like, don’t we?

You don’t need to know.

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

… but it helps if you do…

You should at least once read a translation of everything you say during namaaz… that way, when you pray, you at least have a vague idea of what you’re saying to Allah…

More replies.....wow...... thanks guys

Abdul Basit why you are saying you don’t need to know?? I think it is good if you know translation because you know what are saying in Prayers. Otherwise just reciting the Quran and not understanding will be no good. It is for our oen benefit.

I hope you will learn as well I am learning too. I am sure God will give us guidance and forgive our sins.

Insaniyaat and Mad Science(like that name):

What I meant was that you don’t need to know IF i read it with Translation or not or how many times I read it.

Off course it is good to KNOW what you are reading, specially when that language is alien to you and you need help understanding it.

Like to read Quran with Urdu Translation and often read.

Know the translation of Namaz.

1-Read Quran with translation
No, but i do listen to tafseer separately !!!

2-Know Namaz (Salaat) with translation.
ummm… only Surah Fatiha and Surah Ikhlas. Besides Tasbeeh Rukooh and Tasbeeh Sijda’s very easy to understand.. so no need to translate tht

But i do know the meaning.. its jst tht its easier in Arabic rather than translating everything in Urdu

Asan Quran

This site has Quran translated in URDU.
Actually its Arabic on the Right and Urdu on the Left.

Yes, read Salaat and understand translation and

Yes, read Qur'aan with translation and understanding.

Read and write Urdu, English and Arabic.

Translations are not equal to actually understanding Arabic.

Not Hifiz of the Qur'aan as yet, but Insh'allah will be.

I read Quran with translation
But have not memorized namaz with translation.
