Hi All,
I need some advise please, specially from those who have attempted Quran hifz.
I have read up many different techniques to learn Quran successfully, but they are all very different .. what strategy did you follow that led to you successfully achieving this challenge?
When is the best age to get the child started on Hifz?
How long does it take on an average for the Full hifz ?
What routine do you follow for the rest of the life, to ensure that you dont forget the Quran.
For those living in Western countries, we dont have madrassas or a good choice of teachers for this immense task , what avenues did you use for your child to embark on this journey?
Many thanks for your input ..
Re: Quran Hifz in early childhood
My brother is a hafiz-e-quarn. He used to go to madrassa in pakistan, karachi, its really tough and depends on the learner how much time it will take. He had to leave his school studies. and would stay at madrassa after fajar to magrib , the maulana sahab of madrassa was very strict. He used to beat him up really bad the time he forget even a little part of it and this is the biggest problem in pakistani madrassa's they beat up children really badly and only focus on making student memorize the wordings of quran without understanding about it. Another cousin of mine is becoming hafiz, but he is becoming hafiz from school in lahore and so far havent seen any progress in him. Dont feel the teachers take it seriously. I have one friend his little brother also became hafiz and in a very satisfied way, cause he belonged to family having two siblings MA Islamiat. They worked really hard in helping him becoming hafiz with explaining complete quran to him, i feel this is the right way. He dint had any kind of stress during his learning peroid in fact he was very much interested in learning becuase of the description provided by his siblings on what he learn. The best way for hafiz to ensure they dont forget is to teaching other students (hafiz) helping them learn and travih in ramzan, also listening to reciting of quran almost every day.

The best age to get the child started on Hifz 08-15. So the most suitable is teen age...
It takes 3 years on an average for the Full hifz(for those who are not fluent in Quran reading and Tajweed is poor)
A person with good Tajwid skills and fluent Quran Reading can do it in 18-20 months.
To ensure that you dont forget the Quran you should....
1.For the three years after completion of Memorization you read 2 paras or more daily. Rewise in group with a teacher (online teacher is convinient)
2.Fro rest of the life reciting 1 para daily is ok.
As for those living in Western countries, and dont have madrassas or a good choice of teachers, Online Qari is the best option... edited
Don't quit just because you don't have a good Quran teacher there. Take the challenges. ALLAH will help you. Allah (SWT) says: **(If you help Allah, He will help you.) [Sûrat-u Muhammad, 7]That is, if you strive to serve Allah’s religion, Allah, in turn, will help you.and if Allah helps you, t***here is none to overcome you.*
