Quran for the Office

Recently my boss asked me to buy a Quran to keep in the office, he needs one for when muslims come in and swear oaths ect.

I’m quite weary of buying one as no one else in the office is a Muslim, they will not appreciate the fact that it cannot just be placed under a pile of books ect and I don’t want it to be abused.

What do you think I should do?

Re: Quran for the Office

i suggest u buy one and place it with other books maybe someone might read it and get some benefit , afterall first qurans were on leaves and animal skins ....ur concern that it might be abused shud not prevent u from getting one

Re: Quran for the Office

^ thanks for the advice.

Re: Quran for the Office

I think there should not be any problem if you request your boss that you want the Quran to be kept in your office cupboard. Whenever they want to use it they may borrow it from you. You might give a reason that you frequently have to consult it for understanding and your office colleagues might only need it once in a long time, whenever an oath is required.

It is better to not keep it under the books in the office, because we can't expect any respect from non-Muslims if they might make fun of it, or do something disrespectful in your absence. (Not all of them, but at least there are possibility of once such case who is prejudiced against Islam)

The best is to say bismillah before taking any step and pray to Allah for guidance and wisdom to be able to make the right decision.

May Allah (s.w.t) reward you for your sincere intentions and honest efforts.

Re: Quran for the Office

I also suggest what STP said ... keep it in your office

Buy only english one.

I don't know its true or not that the is no need to take care of that like arabic one.

Is it ok to give only english translation of quran to non muslim. There is no need to repect like arbic quran???
