TOPIC: “The Quran and Bible in light of Modern Science”
Yet, another crushing and humiliating defeat of Answering-Islam.org (a pro-Israeli website), but this time the damage is bad, real bad. Dr. Zakir Naik exposes the lies and the deception of Answering Islam’s premiere writer and scholar, Dr. William Campbell. Unfortunately, the** Answering Islam team has systematically refused to put the debate on their website, nor to even make known that such a debate took place to its congregation!** Nevertheless, the debate can be purchased just a stones throw away from the Answering Islam’s head quarters (South Asian Christian Friendship Center) here in Chicago, at a Muslim bookstore right down the street source: [http://www.examinethetruth.com/page_against_01.htm#AnsweringIslam_Debates]
My argument as to why Islam is not scientific is that it never allows doubt. Doubt is one of the worst possible sins in Islam. But science is built on the foundations of doubt. A scientist is never a believer, for to believe in any thing means to accept facts without verification. A scientist is always a skeptic, always a doubter. Does this apply to Islam? NO, a big NO! Islam demands 100% faith with no room for any doubt. Islam demands that we accept what the koran says, what the hadiths say, 100%. There is no question for any doubt. No debate. No questioning accepted of the basic beliefs. Any one daring to do so is promptly silenced.
Tell me, where does Quran says you can question the credibility of the prophet and of course, where does it say its ok to discuss the truthfullness of Quran and prophet in your meetings????????????
Basic beliefs? How do you define basic beliefs? If you choose to live your life in doubt, go ahead....please dont preach your misguided agenda here...take it to a secular or hindu run website where it will be appreciated.
Its all about faith. Allah himself has given the gauranty for the protection of Quran. Of course you have to believe in Allah to believe in Quran...which you do not so there is no need to stir up quetsions that have nothing but "fitna" as the intention.
I watched this debate in year 2004 Ramadan on ARY - it was really interesting. No need to say that Mr. Campbell was embarrassed and humilated.
If i recall it correctly, Campbell Opening Remarks were something like this: "I do not understand why Mr. Zakir and his team are making such a big fuss about this debate". And his ending remarks: "ah....umm......yes.....ah....I.....ah.......I....ah....have...faith....in..my...lord...ummm....thankyou.....gasp"
Muhammad just as his Bedouin contemporaries had a strange belief in shadowy beings and ghosts that he called Jinn.
These Jinns were made of fire and would stand on top of each other’s shoulders all the way to heaven to eavesdrop to what was being discussed. But the most amusing part is that the prophet believed that the shooting stars and the meteors are the missiles thrown at the eavesdropping Jinns.
Q. 72: 8
“And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur’an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 9. And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him;"
He repeated the same absurd idea again.
Q. 37: 6/10 ”We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars, (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness.
And
Q. 67: 5](http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/067.qmt.html#067.005)“And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.”
The universe as was envisioned by Muhammad, obviously belongs to the realm of fairy tales. The Earth for him was flat were the sun rises from one end and sets in the muddy waters on the other. In Arabic the word “sama” stands for both heaven and sky. And for Muhammad, just like his primitive contemporaries there was no distinction between the two. He described the heaven (sky) made of seven layers and placed the stars in the lowest layer, lower than the Moon. Then he envisioned the mythical Jinns as if they were real beings, standing on each other’s shoulders all the way to heaven to eavesdrop to the discussion of the “Exalted Assembly”. He assumed that the stars are just lamps to adorn the lower heaven that are also used as missiles to shoot the intruding Jinns. Can any reasonable person today accept these fables of those primitive people as true?
The shooting stars, despite their names are not stars but meteorites that glow when enter the atmosphere of the Earth. But Muhammad, could not see the difference; to him the shooting stars were stars.
As absurd as it may be, today’s Muslims still believe in the Jinns. It is written in Quran and for them the Quran is the word of Allah. How can it be wrong?
There is also a Hadith that confirms the above story.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 432 Narrated 'Aisha: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “The angels descend, the clouds and mention this or that matter decreed in the Heaven. The devils listen stealthily to such a matter, come down to inspire the soothsayers with it, and the latter would add to it one-hundred lies of their own.”
despite the unscientific/fairytale/fantastic nature of islam why does it still keep attracting people.
why is it still the fastest growing religion on earth.
is it perhaps that islam ,depite being branded as a religion which promotes terrorism still gains acceptance and attracts converts in usa n europe both?
is it perhaps the notion of losing on the homeground that bothers non muslims?
maybe the fact that muslims, wether good or bad, adhere to their religion and europeans n americans do not.
Pope Benedict XVI lamented the weakening of churches in Europe, Australia and the USA. "There's no longer evidence for a need of God, even less of Christ," he told Italian priests. "The so-called traditional churches look like they are dying."
perhaps u want us to follow in ur ways n leave religion?
''Among the most striking consequences of the decline of religion has been fewer children. The biggest single consequence of the declining role of the church is the huge decline in fertility rates''------is that the reason why iraq and afghanistan have to be invaded? wars mostly kill men, is that the christian method of muslim population control?
some cud say christian world is ganging up on islam, some wud say roman caths have united and the protestants are afraid so invading the mid east to control spread of roman caths.and both ofcourse want to curb the spread of islam.

Islam is the fastest growing religion by birth, not conversion. Growth by conversion is still greatest in Evalgelical Christianity. Islam is growing fastest is Africa, where the black Africans are quite dissaffected by what is happening in Sudan. In Sudan, within the refugee camps of the black Sudanese, Christian missionaries are the primary NGO that are helping the people. A recent NPR program also said that many of the black Sudanese are also converting to Christianity because they hope that will help them get the sympathies of the West.
In the US, the fastest growing religion is Envangelical Christianity. However if you couple all Christians as one, then Islam is the fastest growing. However that is due to immigration, and that is declining.
The "Muslims" converts in the US are mostly the black population in jails. They however are not the typical Muslims, they are the Nation of Islam. They believe that Elijha Mohammed was also a prophet, similar to what the Qadianis believe.
Islam is growing in Europe by immigration as well.
