We all know that being dutiful to our parents holds great significance in islam, below are a few hadiths and verses of quran talking about parents, especially our mothers who go through many sacrifices just to see a smile on our face :) May Allah subhana wa taala forgive the sins of all the parents in the umaah, make us dutiful towards them and grant them success in this duniya and the akhira amin :)

Sahih Al - Bukhari Hadith
Volume 8, Book 73, Number 2:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
A man came to Allah's Apostle (peace be upon Him) and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man said. "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man asked for the fourth time, "Who is next?" The Prophet (peace be upon Him) said, "Your father. "

Sahih Al - Bukhari Hadith
Volume 9, Book 92, Number 418:
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:
A woman came to the Prophet (peace be upon Him) and said, "My mother vowed to perform the Hajj but she died before performing it. Should I perform the Hajj on her behalf?" He said, "Yes! Perform the Hajj on her behalf. See, if your mother had been in debt, would you have paid her debt?" She said, "Yes." He said, "So you should pay what is for Him as Allah has more right that one should fulfill one's obligations to Him. "

Sahih Al - Bukhari Hadith
Volume 8, Book 74, Number 290:
Narrated Abu Bakra:
Allah's Apostle (peace be upon Him) said, "Shall I inform you of the biggest of the great sins?" They said, "Yes, O Allah's Apostle!" He said, "To join partners in worship with Allah, and to be undutiful to one's parents. "

Allah subhana wa taala says in the Quran

Surah An-Nahl (The Bee) Verse 78
16:78 And God has brought you forth from your mothers' wombs knowing nothing-but He has endowed you with hearing, and sight, and minds, so that you might have cause to be grateful.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Surah Luqman (Luqman) Verse 14
31:14 “And [God says:] ‘We have enjoined upon man goodness towards his parents: his mother bore him by bearing strain upon strain, and his utter dependence on her lasted two years: [hence, O man,] be grateful towards Me and towards thy parents, [and remember that] with Me is all journeys’ end.
Allah subhana wa taala says in the Quran
**Al-Baqara (The Cow) **
2:177 True piety does not consist in turning your faces towards the east or the west - but truly pious is he who believes in God, and the Last Day; and the angels, and revelation, and the prophets; and spends his substance - however much he himself may cherish - it - upon his near of kin, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and the beggars, and for the freeing of human beings from bondage; and is constant in prayer, and renders the purifying dues; and [truly pious are] they who keep their promises whenever they promise, and are patient in misfortune and hardship and in time of peril: it is they that have proved themselves true, and it is they, they who are conscious of God.
MARRAIGE & MEHER IN ISLAM
***May Allah bestow us with knowledge of the right path that leads us and our families and the whole umaah to janaah amin :)
***These days people demand cars, houses and tonnes of money for mahr during weddings, subhanallah out beloved Prophet Peace be upon him kept mahr as something very simple, may it be easy for us to follow His (pbuh) footsteps inshaAllah and keep away from worldly materialistic things inshaAllah.
Sahih Al - Bukhari Hadith
Volume 7, Book 62, Number 27:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (peace be upon Him) said, "A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a losers.
Sahih Al - Bukhari Hadith
Volume 7, Book 62, Number 24:
Narrated Sahl bin Sad As-Sa'idi:
A woman came to Allah's Apostle (peace be upon Him) and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have come to give you myself in marriage (without Mahr)." Allah's Apostle looked at her. He looked at her carefully and fixed his glance on her and then lowered his head. When the lady saw that he did not say anything, she sat down. A man from his companions got up and said, "O Allah's Apostle! If you are not in need of her, then marry her to me." The Prophet (peace be upon Him) said, "Have you got anything to offer?" The man said, "No, by Allah, O Allah's Apostle!" The Prophet said (to him), "Go to your family and see if you have something." The man went and returned, saying, "No, by Allah, I have not found anything." Allah's Apostle (peace be upon Him) said, "(Go again) and look for something, even if it is an iron ring." He went again and returned, saying, "No, by Allah, O Allah's Apostle! I could not find even an iron ring, but this is my Izar (waist sheet)." He had no rida. He added, "I give half of it to her." Allah's Apostle (peace be upon Him) said, "What will she do with your Izar? If you wear it, she will be naked, and if she wears it, you will be naked." So that man sat down for a long while and then got up (to depart). When Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) saw him going, he ordered that he be called back. When he came, the Prophet (peace be upon Him) said, "How much of the Quran do you know?" He said, "I know such Sura and such Sura," counting them. The Prophet (peace be upon Him) said, "Do you know them by heart?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace be upon Him) said, "Go, I marry her to you for that much of the Quran which you have."
Allah subhana wa taala says in the Qu'ran
Surah Al-Nour (The Light) Verse 32
24:32 AND [you ought to] marry the single from among you as well as such of your male and female slaves as are fit [for marriage]. If they [whom you intend to marry] are poor, [let this not deter you;] God will grant them sufficiency out of His bounty - for God is infinite [in His mercy], all-knowing.
