Q3- spinach??... we were learning bwt spincah in school and that it has high nutrition figures:)

Re: Quiz

RDI maybe Recommended daily intake

Replace A with I :chai:

Hmmm interesting response. The answer of first question was surprising for me too

It is Maze/Corn. Its annual production worldwide is slightly more than that of Wheat and Rice (690, 650 , 630 million metric tones respectively) . One third of total is produced in US.

  1. Whole wheat grain/flour is packed with highest nutrition value.

  2. I am not sure :chai:but spinach is a good guess :k:

Re: Quiz

most of the corn that is produced isn't for human consumption. it's either cow/animal feed, or is converted into ethanol. hence the big surge in production of corn, as well as part of the explanation of why there is a food crisis in the world. farmers are converting their wheat/rice/other fields into corn fields because it gives them the most revenues. but, the staple for most of the world is either wheat, rice or potatoes.

Re: Quiz

Thats why i used the term ‘cultivated’ :smooth:

You are partly right about global food crisis. But corn production , its use for animal feed, big chunk for production of bio-fuel are relatively minor reasons of food crisis. Becasue corn production is high not just this year, it is consistant for past few years. Food prices (main grains) doubled just this years.

The core reason of sharp surge in food prices is indirectly the oil prices. The global economies were not ready for this huge increas in oil prices. They were taken aback, really. They had not planned any measures to absorb this shockl; Naturaly… So they had not planned their agriculture policy in wake of oil price hike. Countries dont keep much reserves of grains Now a days. For instance US this year lowest reserves of food grains in the past 60 years.

As opposed to general perception, Pakistan could have fared well during this crisis ( the atta crisis was merely due to mismanagement ) and marginally was less affected due to ‘some’ good policies of yester years.
