Re: Quiz - Question of the Day
True or false (bold part)
We know that summit of Mt Everest is the highest point above sea level. That means that it is the furthest point from the center of the earth.
the earth isn't a (perfect) sphere you know, so this might not be true.

No it isn't. It's slightly flattened because of constant spinning, kind of like an egg sitting on its side.

Re: Quiz - Question of the Day
In that case, we cannot draw any conclusion abt distance from center from just that info - that it is highest peak
So the statemt is false. That highest peak MUST mean it is farthest from center.

True. Guessing.
One of the very famous rule that scientists use while forming theories is,
"The simplest explanation is usually the right one"
This rule is known as
Heisenberg's principle
Occam's razor
Schrodinger's paradox
Murphy's law
Planck's constant
Noooooo I wanted to answer this its my most fav concept cmon I'm sad

OK Philo, a question specially for you (but anyone can answer)
There is a philosophical concept in cosmology that says that observations of the physical Universe must be compatible with the conscious life that observes it
Simply put, the reason we ask the question ‘why the universe is the way it is because the way universe evolved, only an intelligent life form at this stage of universe could ask such question’ .If no one was there to ask such question then universe was not worthy of such question being asked bout it
This philosophical concept is known as
Hawking’s Model
Anthropic Principle
Law of Entropy
Euclidean vector
Doppler effect

No I have not read that book. I Will.
And Hawking's "the grand design" also tries to eliminate the need of God. His argument was very weak though.
