quilt and quilt covers

Hello,

I bought few quilt covers for queen size quilt, when i put one on, it was bigger than the quilt even though both are queen size.
i thought my quilt might have shrinked (as i washed few times); i ended up buying new one. still the covers are bigger.

ever happened to anyone? are covers suppose to bigger than the quilt.

any idea what to do with them now?

thanks

Re: quilt and quilt covers

how much bigger? if 2-3 inches it is normal, if not how much bigger is it??

Re: quilt and quilt covers

actually its about 25cm. and i have few all from different companies and they are same

Re: quilt and quilt covers

maybe ur quilt is a double and not queen? there is a difference between double and queen.

Re: quilt and quilt covers

Yeah I think Saks is right .. your duvet must be a Double rather then Queen :hmmm:

But you can still use the quilt covers … just do a silai on one of the sides … that should sort the problem out … I bought some covers from Ikea last year and they turned out to be huge … but the silai sorted the problem out pretty nicely ..

Re: quilt and quilt covers

I bought a duvet cover once and never again, duvet kept slipping and bunching inside the cover.

CB, kia matlab silai on one of the sides? Wouldn't the quilt still bunch up on the other side?

Re: quilt and quilt covers

Wash your quilt cover...it will shrink as well.

Re: quilt and quilt covers

make sure you buy good quality duvet covers (which may be a little expensive but worth it!) I bought a cheapo duvet cover and my duvet kept bunching up in one spot, even though the size was perfect.

I then bought a more expensive, but very good quality duvet cover and I've never had a problem :D

Re: quilt and quilt covers

^oh no not again. :D

I love my coforter sets and that's all I buy now.

Re: quilt and quilt covers

I recently bought a duvet cover from ikea..pure cotton material. It went on so well on a regular comforter and doesn't bunch up or anything. It's soft and pretty as well...great for the summer. It fit just right.
