Let’s share some easy solutions and tricks that we have learned to make the challenges of parenting just a wee bit easier…
I’ll start with this one:
Does your little one have the stomach flu? Is he/she throwing up? Are you left without clean linen after just one night? Try this:
Line the bed with: Good Nites Disposable Bed Mats.
Although these are designed to address bed-wetting, they are great for when your child is throwing up too.
Adhesive strips keep the mats in place and the leak proof feature keeps your linens fresh. Clean up is easy…just remove and throw out. No laundry!!!
Cost: approximately $1.00 per pad (available in packs of 9)
I got this idea from a friend of mine that had some left-over training pads for her new puppy. She was throwing them out and it occurred to me that they could be used like this. So I kept them and used them up.
I can’t remember where I saw this but it’s a great idea so wanted to add it here…
putting the laundry basket in the tub allows the toys to stay within reach so the little one doesn’t end up face first under water as he/she tries to reach for one that is floating away.
this also keeps them from moving close to the water tap and accidentally reaching up to adjust them.
Let me share dear mommys and daddys ... what i call 'my awesome system'. I simply never NEVER throw away toy boxes when we buy new toys. Aamna my 4 yr old, has a toy closet in which we keep all her toys in their original boxes. They are laid out like a they are placed in store shelves. Rule is to not have more than three out at a time. When she is done with what she has out, we pack them and put them away. The attractive packaging makes them look new and attractive for a much longer time.
Benefits :
She has much more value for them -
She doesn't get bored of them -
They don't get mixed up -
We can donate them later in a more attractive box than a plastic bag -
^ we kept a lot of the boxes for bigger items (walker, car seat, bumbo, etc) but not the smaller ones because they take up too much room....yes my daughter has a lot of toys! i bought one of those square seats that you can take the top off and use as storage to store her toys and she also uses it as a chair.
If you are traveling with kids, keep lollipops with you. When taking off or landing the change in air pressure can cause your ears to pop and it can make some kids irritable. Just hand rhem a lollipop and it will prevent their ears from popping. Its worked on my kids and well me too
^^Yup,the lollipops work. Also a bag of gummy bears works the same way.My daughter is crazy for gummies so I kept a few with me during our recent plane trip. She kept chewing on them during descent, and it helped.
Marshmallows helps with sore and scratchy throats. Sometimes kids don’t like honey but they can’t say no to marshmallows. They coat the throat and provide relief for a bit. Every time my girls get a strep, we roast marshmallows.
I learnt the hard way this week Muzna, She was sick and it went through all the sheets and the mattress protector and the pillows. 11pm change of bedding was not great.
