I have heard that the secret of Bhayya's kababs in Model Town is star anise. I don't know. I don't remember the flavour of it coming out.

Of course, other people said the secret was the absence of stray dogs...

We call it badiyan. My mom will add a few to dum ka qeemah along with other dried spices and it takes the meat smell out and enhances the taste.
