Re: quick Help: Excel/Word
To merge a Microsoft Excel chart into a Microsoft Word for Windows document, take the following steps:
**Step 1:** Click on the chart in Excel., then click on a region near the edge of the figure, but slightly inside the outer border. This will cause some square dots to appear at the corners of the chart, indicating that the entire figure has been selected.
**Step 2: **Click on the menu item "Edit", and then click on the sub-menu item "Copy". This action copies the figure into the Windows clipboard. You will see no visible change in the figure when you do this.
Step 3: Enter or create a Microsoft Word for Windows document. With the cursor positioned where you want to insert the figure ,click on the Word menu item "Edit" and the sub-menu item "Paste Special". Insert the chart as a Microsoft Excel Chart object , but clear the check box labeled "Float over text." Clicking "OK" will insert the figure into the Word document.
Step 4: Use the handles (square dots) on the figure to size the chart and use the alignment buttons on the editing toolbar to position it as desired.
