Quick foods

Re: Quick foods

some cheap 10 min snacks
take a sliced bread toast in grill, butter one side and spread with 1 teaspoon of tomato ketchup and then sliced tomato (if you like tomatoes) and then slices of cheese on top of that and then a little bit of chopped onion.

and put back under the grill. for the cheese to melt.

2) Do you like supernoodles.

take chicken (its vegaterian) flavour

put 2 cups of water in saucepan and add a quarter if a chopped onion to the cold water and bring upto boil, add a couple of drops of worcester sauce and a few drops of tabasco and a quarter of a teaspoon of achar (pickle) and when the waters boiled add the noodles and noodle flavour powder. and after about 3 mins add a handful of shredded cabbage or or chinese leaf or pak choi if you have it and if you like it.

Also Sarah,

Shahreen is right if you make up more and freeze it you will save a lot of time later on.

Frozen food doesnt taste old if you take it out before leaving home in the morning and then reheating thoroughly when you get back home, in a saucepan and add fresh coriander nd a squeeze of lemon.

alternatively , what i also do is make up a masala mix of the ground fried onions, tomatoes and spices etc in a large saucepan on the weekend which takes a couple of hours cool it and freeze it in small sandwich/freezer bags i put the amount I would need for say a chicken in each bag.

and then i can add it straight from the freezer it to a fresh small chicken and cook it for about 20 to 25 mins and its done.

Re: Quick foods

so your sister like meat..qeema dishes can be made easily in very less time..specially qeema matar, qeema matar hash brown, or bhuna qeema. Chicken breast pieces take very less time as well..as for gosht..maybe, you can put the marinate in the fridge and also you can use papaya paste..and just like sabah baji said you can bake these things..i love to bake them in toaster oven.

As for vegetables, i like my vegetables the desi way..

So, few things you can do..get a kidney bean can..and make rajma..it takes less than 5 minutes..i brown the onions..add, salt, chilly powder, coriander powder, zeera powder and garam masala powder..then i add kidney beans..and then tomato paste..i let it simmer for few minutes..and then add cream and garnish it coriander leaves :-)

Another quick recipe: i take hash brown potatoes and make it with achar masala and usual spices.

Spinach recipe: spin the spinach in the blender with green chillies..Add onions and masala to oil..bhonofy..add spinach and then after few minutes add yogurt..let it cook for few minutes..its ready :-)

Re: Quick foods

This is a summer favorite of ours, easy and quick and surprisingly tasty

Slice up a yellow squash, a green zuchinni, yellow onion, a tomato or2, some green pepper.

Heat a couple tbsp olive oil in a fry pan, add all the sliced veggies. Sprinkle soy sauce into the pan while frying the veggies. Stir and fry them until they're tender.
If you serve this over rice or noodles it could make a nice meal.

I really dont like squash or zuchini but in this recipe, they are SO tasty.
